  1. Who are some of the best sophomores we'll see on the diamond this spring?
  2. Wow, why all the bar lowering? "Realisitc"....okay do you realistically believe Trintiy is the third best team in Louisville? By all accounts and predictions from the Rock posters here you guys will be crowned and taking ring orders in December. 8-1 record vs. 7-2, you think who T lost to and beat and vice versa might be important in predicting this contenst instead of just looking at the win and loss columm? Common opponents? Dunbar, you guys win by 34 playing the 2nd and 3rd teamers most of the second half and Lafayette scrapes by with a 2 point victory playing their first team the whole game.
  3. Duece's injury sounds like it could be serious. Glaser said he'd be out "at least two weeks" during his postgame. He's hoping it's just a mild MCL sprain.
  4. Not sure. Looked like fewer numbers(circa 25-30) for Central's freshmen team compared to what they brought to the JV game Monday (30-40). The big running back for Central's JV, #23, wasn't there. I suspect he was getting ready for varsity action.
  5. Great job Tigers!! Jay Hayden, Devontae Beach and Lamont McMurray turned in their usual lightning and thunder performances on the ground. Bickel, Spalding and Albanese led the defense. Central fought hard, played disciplined defense, gave up nothing easy. Tigers finish 9-1, undefeated against Kentucky competition.
  6. Yes, you've caught us....We're all agents of Coach Glaser and his conspiracy to spread filthy playing time rumours about Coach Beatty so that all the fine catcholic students in the areawill want to to attend X and shun Trinity. It will certainly be a glorious day when we can proudly march 200 juniors and seniors onto the field, guaranteeing all them at least one snap regardless of the situation.:jump:
  7. But, didn't you get the message above: News flash to those who don't get it or refuse to accept it, playing football at Trinity is much, much different than virtually anywhere else. Now don't go a disagreeing with me or I'll start a asking if Lex Cath's FRESHMEN team played sophmores against the likes of T,X and Colerain. :fight:
  8. Are you kidding me? You're offended because folks wanted to know why Trinity brought down 7 sophmores to play in a freshman game? It's not a common occurrence. It's acutally very rare. So rare that no one from Trinity has answered when it last happened. I speculated that maybe it was because of injuries and thankfully one of the Rock faithful confirmed that 7 starters were out. But forgive us for questioning why the ALL MIGHTY TRINITY does anything.
  9. This will be a character building year for the young Rocks. They have some great skilled talent. Put them with a decent supporting class and I wouldn't bet against them.
  10. Congrats! X fan here and I hate to admit I don't remember him. When did he play, how many years did he start?
  11. There you have it, I think that fairly sums up Trinity's playing time philosophy. As an ole ball coach once said, "Some players help the program by staying, others by leaving."
  12. I understand Trinity had several kids receive concussions in the PRP game. If that's the reason for bringing sophmores down I have no problem with it. You could conceivably be so thin at a spot that your options would be to either (A) Try and move and teach some kids a new position in a week or (B) move some sophmores down. I suppose Trinity figured since the junior backups next year (sophmores now) will be playing JV next year anyway they might as well get used to playing with this group instead of trying to develop a player within the freshman class. Does seem kind of harsh for the freshmen, but that seems to be Trintiy's philosophy. Hopefully the sophmores who got moved down were some of the kids who didn't get to play much JV because of the juniors who moved down from varsity.
  13. Can you tell us when Trinity last used sophmores in a freshmen game? How many were used? I understand the lack of lineman, X had the same issue and had to convert several linebackers to D line, and moved several D linemen to O line. Linemen are at a premium it seems with this class.
  14. I would agree with the Radio guys...this was hard fought. First team still playing at the start of the 4th with a 28-7 lead. PRP's D made some big hits and stops in the first half. Brutcher was under pressure almost everytime he dropped back to pass. Duece was Duece, ran hard and broke a couple long runs. PRP seemed to tire in the second half, lot of guys going both ways.
  15. I agree. I know when I'm not liked or wanted, and I usually don't stick around those parties very long.
  16. Last year's freshman lost 1 game, Moeller. I think they went 9-1.
  17. If freshman football is so insignificant in the grand scheme of Trinity's glorious title history why did you even read this post about a St.X and PRP freshman game? Why after reading it did you feel compelled to throw a barb in about last year's rain shortened varsity game? Nothing was said negative about Trinity. I don't understand your need to inject Trinity into this conversation. Does it bother you that X's freshman did well this year? Please enlighten.
  18. I don't think the KHSAA will allow those guys who won all those state titles for Trinity to come back and help this bunch. Only time will tell how much history is repeated, or made.
  19. Dude, the only record you should be concerned about when it comes to freshmen football is your own school's losing record. Rain or shine, your frosh will finish the year under .500.
  20. Great job Tigers!! One to go to claim undefeated bragging rights against state competition.
  21. Well said, couldn't agree more. Who cares if kids transfer for athletic reasons, academic reasons or romantic reasons. Kids shouldn't be forced to sit out a year for any reason other than for perhaps disciplinary problems. If you're a junior place kicker, and you have a teammate whose a junior placekicker, you're both really good but only one of you is going to get the job why not let one of the kids transfer for athletic reasons to another school that could benefit from his talent? The orginal school isn't hurt, both kids benefit and the new school benefits.
  22. Ouch!!! These Panthers must be hitters. I'm sure they'd love to sweep T and X...anyone know when a public school last did that at the freshman level?
  23. They also lost to Lex Cath. I haven't heard a score from the Evansville Reitz game. They defeated Butler and Central. They are either 2-6 or 3-5, depending on the Evansville game.
