  1. X was up 28-0 at the half against the Lex Cath freshmen. This was after a couple X fumbles in the red zone. It could have been 42-0 at half. X called off the Dogs early. The 2's started the second half for X, 3 and 4's played the 4th quarter. Lex Cath QB threw a nice ball, had a couple good, big O lineman and a back with good speed and size.
  2. Anyone know the outcome of these two games played yesterday at Oldham?
  3. What did Diogenes correct that I said? I was aware that Trinity played juniors, I was the first state it. I didn't criticize it in the least. You got defensive when Guru simply asked the question if Trintiy played juniors. I answered the question correctly. As Guru stated, he asked the question so he could put the outcome into perspective as to whether one team was playing with older players.
  4. Did Trevor Holtsclaw transfer from Trinity? If so, you have a really good QB waiting in the wings.
  5. Thanks for the summary on the other games THSRocks, I had a couple questions about Trinity, the kid who returned the opening kickoff for Trinity for a TD didn't seem to touch the ball on offense the rest of the day, was he hurt? I didn't think so because he was still in on kickoffs. The kid looked like he had a ton of speed. Finally, the fake extra point run at the end of regulation, why? If you have that little confidence in your kicking game why not line it up and run your best short yardage pass play? Ahh, it's so easy to coach from the stands.
  6. Easy big fella...nobody had criticized Trinity for playing juniors on JV or even remotely suggested they "broke rules". Someone merely asked the question, "Did Trinity play juniors in the JV game against Moeller." I personally think it's a good idea to get some juniors playing time if they're not getting a chance to play varsity.
  7. I'll bite...Trinity almost always plays juniors in big JV games. Not a criticism, just a fact. Anyone know who QB'd for Moeller in this game? Any Rock fans have thoughts on the freshmen's loss to Boyle County?
  8. Boyle won in double OT. They have a beast of a running back who drug Trinity tacklers around the field all day. Kragethorpe and Nix looked good for the Rocks... hooked up on about a 20 yard pass play with 4 seconds left to send the game to OT.
  9. Agree Tiger, they got a little too excited with "no calls" and forgot to tell the listeners what happened. On one play BG dropped back to pass...."OMG, look at the hold, no call, unbelieveable..." 10 seconds later, "the pass was batted down at the line of scrimmage." You'd thought BG scored or something the way the announcers went crazy.
  10. Sounded like a great game on the radio....Many Tiger fans were debating on heading over to Shelbyville Rd. at half.
  11. Coach J, Congrats on the win....and thanks for showing some love to a kid who let his emotions get away from him.
  12. Absolutely agree Xtiger69!! Don't forget to check out the second game ever played at Bro. More stadium when the Baby Tigers take on Moeller tommorow at 11am. Hopefully X can avenge the shellacking they put on us last year at their place.
  13. In 1984 (Class of 85) X lost to a Joey Hamilton led team in the Jefferson County 4A Championship by 2 or 3. Hamilton scored late on a 4th and goal swing pass. The score should have been tied but X had given up a saftey earlier on an errant punt snap and then tried to go for 2 later to make it up and was stopped. Ballard went on to play Christian County for the state title, I think, and lost. X got to Ballard by beating Trinity's trio of Murray, Gardner and Pfeiffer 20-0. That X class of 85 had never beaten the 85 class of Trinity ever (2 losses as Frosh, 2 losses as JV, 2 losses as juniors, 1 loss as seniors), 7 total losses to that very talented bunch of Rocks. The next year I believe is when Trinity beat Higgs/Owensboro for the title.
  14. Cool, it will be nice to listen to an hour of pregame while tailgaiting....uh, I mean while I'm parked and getting hydrated before the game.
  15. St. X vs. Trinity last year--Game ended after the first quarter with Rocks ahead 10-0 due to torrential rain and lightning. Kids were literally swimming in the parking lot.
  16. 7--DeSales 5-- Central 3--Lou. Christian Academy 2--Southern 1--Oldaham County TB--Central
  17. I think 6A will be competitive enough for X and T to keep it exciting and affordable for players families. I know the state championship was somewhat anticlimatic last year for Trinity against Ryle...but it wasn't too long ago that Trinity and Male had the most exciting championship maybe in Kentucky high school football history...X and Bryan Station had an exciting finish a few years ago as well. I personally would prefer to stay in the KHSAA. Not sure if KHSAA would allow X and T to just opt out for football...what would we do for basketball, baseball, soccer, wrestling etc...?
  18. Uhh, Ripper, tonight is Friday night...
  19. Are St.X Greenies and JV scrimmaging each other today?
  20. Any of our NKY friends have any info on how strong Cincy Moeller freshmen are this year? And no, this has nothing to do with them coming to Louisville on Aug. 25th to play St.X, nothing at all....just curious...but any jersey numbers of key players, size and speed numbers, offensvive and defensive tendencies would be appreciated.
  21. Good analysis Biotech... the 04 regular season game against Trinity was fun, exciting offensive football to watch which is not something you can always say about a ST.X offense. There's no reason X can't do that every game. The short pass is almost as safe as a run from a turnover perspective. This is something that should be a regular part of the offense week in and week out, getting better every week so by the time playoffs come the offense is clicking on all cylinders. Maybe Glaser thinks that night was something of a fluke because Trinity was not ready for that? Any thoughts on why that offensive scheme was pretty much abandoned after that night? Yes, we saw the same formations a few times after that, but X never did wholesale commit to it like that night.
