  1. How do this typically compare to CJ Lit ratings?
  2. Whitfield is getting looks from all these schools and more. i believe that Gayhart is also getting looks from WKU. Not sure about any offers but Whitfield definitely has the body type that D1 is looking for and Gayhart can shoot the lights out period. She is really tough. I too am curious who else is out there getting looks and from who.
  3. What a great picture! This is a special moment for their family and to capture it, is even better. Congrats on your accomplishment Lauren!
  4. "Look, I am just saying that we ALL play in the 8th region and most of our games are against 8th region teams. " South has only 9 games (of 24) against 8th region opponents which is different that most of the schools in northern part of the 8th region who probably play 75% of there schedule within region. Wins and losses can be very deceiving to base anything on unless you take into consdieration strengtrh of schedule. South plays Walton and SK this year during the regular season which I think is a good motivator all around. Anderson is still the team to beat IMO. The pressure to"repeat" is a big task though , which could bode well for South, Owen or Walton. Hard to win wire to wire so to speak - more pressure on Anderson as everyone is looking to them.
  5. As for strength of schedule goes: A loss from a quality opponent can mean more than a win over a poor/mediocre team so the opponent record thing means nothing IMO. I am a firm believer that you have to play the best teams(better than you) to get better along with how well you play in close games. Simon Kenton has played a tougher schedule for several years along with Shelby Co. a few years back and I think that it paid off for them once it came to region. Teams that play against tougher competition may not have an impressive record but the experience means everything when it comes to putting together a run to the sweet 16. I am not a huge fan of the LIT ratings but you can lose to a ranked opponent and your LIT rating can go up .
  6. My sentiments exactly. I would also like to add that strength of schedule will be key this year.
  7. I thought she was going to play volleyball? or is she going to do both?
  8. I think Wainscott is a quality player but I am not sure that she is the best player though. I realize that she was POY last season but there was a weak class of seniors IMO and it is rare that people vote for a Fresh/Soph for POY. I think there will be some juniors that will give her some pretty stiff competiton this year. (Whitfiled, South Oldham & Gayhart, Owen ) Coach Stowers is a great coach no doubt about that.
  9. Homemade: Turkey with cranberry sauce(leftovers from Tgiiving), with Hellmans Mayo on white Wonder bread. Restuarant: Roast Beef and Garlic melt at Beef O" Brady's
  10. Coke- actually Diet Coke. If its Pepsi, I decline.
  11. I do think that Anderson is the favorite but I do not think they are "head and shoulders" above the rest (sorry CM). Top four IMO- Anderson, South Oldham, Walton, and I like Owen's chances this year. I know that South Oldham has much to prove (Can they finally make some shots?) but I do think the "potential" is there to make it interesting. No one is picking them so there are no expectations or hype to live up to. Perhaps they will respond better in this role.
  12. Good for her! Would be hard to turn down just for the simple fact that it is UCONN. Wow!
  13. Pretty scary event and I was holding my breath as I was reading everyone's posts. Sounds like things are moving in the right direction for Savannah and my prayers go out to her and her family. Please continue to keep us posted.
  14. Any news on her visit to UCONN? I was talking about this with my daughter last night- what an honor for this young lady.
  15. If you believe things that are presented to you from the biased press - that is up to you. President Bush was not a Hindu- fact! So that is a mute point - why is it that I ask a question about Obama's faith and you jump to Bush. I don't care if he is a Muslin , I care that he didn't tell us because it would't be the popular thing to do. I hate to disappoint you, but just because you read it from one of his books does not make it true! I have not fallen for anything - and i will continue to share my opinions. Sorry if they are not the same as yours.
  16. We can agree to disagree TBG. You can say what you want - things just don't add up IMO! No fear-mongering intended! if there is misinformation, it is because he has not been forthright with the american people about things. It is hard to know what is true and what is not with him. The press writes what sells papers/commercials. How do you know that he is not a Muslim? Do you believe everything that is written about him? We know more about our supreme court justices, then we know about him. Put him in front of congress and under oath and let's find out the real truth. Not going to happen though....
  17. "You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you. You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support. You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American." This has troubled me all along- I find it strange that no one in today's world of high tech and greed, has anything to share about him when he was growing up, in college, etc. Everyone has a past but he does not seem to have one. How is this possible? To me this is not about his race, it is about being upfront with the American people. If you are a Muslim, than say so and be proud of it. If you are a smoker, why hide it till after the election? It botheres me that he does not put his hand on his heart when the national anthem is played. It bothers me that he and his wife think our national anthem is too violent. I am not sure that he even loves our country - THAT SCARES ME!
  18. Yea for you and your daughter! I have seen the other side of it with both soccer and volleyball where there high school and club coaches do not want to work with them during the basketball season and are not flexible. I agree with being up front with the coaches to set the expectation from the get-go. I am about to find out about this same situation with my daughter so I am hoping we will have the good fortune that you and your daughter have.
  19. Amen....I have said and thought the same thing many times. I am not a huge fan of soccer either, especailly if they want a scholly- there just isn't too many of those to go around since it is not a revenue generating sport.
  20. Louis Meadows had it posted on his newsletter last week about Pittman tearing her ACL - she is having surgery this week I believe.
  21. Here's a good one. The Sonic is Crestwood ran out of large and Route 44 cups - they said it would be 2 or 3 weeks before they were getting them in. Crazy!!!
