Absolutely HORRIBLE officiating entire game! It is a shame that you get to the regional tournament and have this. All three were BAD BAD BAD !! 6th region needs to stay in Lousiville.

What a game! Atmosphere was fantastic. "BiIG TIME" clutch plays were made in those final minutes, by the players you mentioned SportsLady. Jones, VanZant, and Erin Wilson, who did a nice job coming off the bench to give the Lady Dragons a spark, are all sophomores and have gained valuable experience this season. VanZant was tourney MVP along with Sedoris and Beaudrie making all tourney. I am sorry that I cannot list all the other recipients. 2 from North Oldham, 2 from Trimble (Paige Black was one of them), 3 from OC (McMurtrey, Henderson, & ?) Congrats to Oldham! They had a good game plan and it took till the 4th quarter for South to adjust.

Nice win for the Lady Dragons this afternoon. Another great team effort and fantastic finish down the stretch.:thumb:

Great game for the seniors- they really stepped up and played their hearts out. Sanford did a great job defensively with some key steals for layups late in the game. Mullins hit some key shots which was also big. Soooooooooooo happy for the Lady Dragons.:dancingpa

I am also surpirsed that Fox and Schaffer did not make the junior team as well. Tough when good players get left off- hard to get a group that everyone would agree on but each coach sees things differently. They should not hang their heads- they are both outstanding players.

Just starting interviews this week- 3 strong "highly qualified" candidates - it all that we have heard. By the time they finally hire someone, June ball will be over. Assistants doing a good job of getting some things scheduled. This group of players lacks significant varsity game experience- so the more they play, the better. Hopefully we will know something soon.

Well - first they need to hire a coach. Dragging their feet imo, time's a wasting.

AMEN!!!! All these rankings mean absolutely NOTHING. There is way too much emphasis on polls that are based on formulas. Coaches know who the best teams areThese create a false sense of security or insecurity IMHO.

You make a good point Tiger and one that is hard to dispute. South is ranked higher in the polls but WV has beat them 3 straight. Could provide even more motivation for WV? South is playing well and has had some nice wins against some quality opponents. Big test for them on Friday in the LIT against Mercy.

Coach and Player of the Year are both voted on prior to the region tournament-so the outcome does not affect the winner. It should but it does not.

I agree SL- Cardwell is very impressive from three-pt line. Quick release and made several with defender in her face. Is she a junior or senior? Congrats to the Lady Dragons- very nice finish - tough, physical game and special congrats to Kayla Mullins who came in and made 3 of 4 three-pointers. So very happy for her

Sorry to hear that about Devine and her injury. Any additional news on Bryant? Hate to see that happen let alone for their senior season.

I agree SL and I think we may need to throw Collins into the team mix too. IMO three point shooting could end up being THE big factor this year. Teams live and die by the three - sounds like from an earlier post (Sandlin needs to touch the ball) that may have been what happened possibly with WV against Owen the other night? Seems that many teams shoot an open three too early in the offensive posession - yes it is open, but perhaps a higher percentage shot could be found with a little more patience- especially when you have gone a few posessions and really need a basket. The other factor is making free throw's- have seen too many games lost because that as well. Going to be yet another competitive year in the 8th region.

Nice well deserved win for WV. Impressed with their guard play. They made the extra pass to get wide open shots and they nailed them. They have several very nice 3 pt shooters- AND they shoot at a high percentage! Not a well executed game for the Lady Dragons. WV seems to have their number.

I agree - thought they might be there. Maybe the coaching change had something to do with it. Am surprised that Anderson is so high.

Although it was the 5th quarter played and they performed very well in the first 4 quarters, I find it troublesome that they thought it didn't count! Why would you not play your very best and use the opportunity to work on things? IMO South Oldham needs to have that killer instict all the time- not just when they pick and choose. If you want to go to Diddle in March everything you do when you step on court should be your very best whether it is practice, a scrimmage, or a game.

WVFrank- Boone is a quality team and Moss is the real deal! I did not mean to take anything away from them. My comment was directed at Retro who stated that Anderson was the "favorite" to win the 8th because they had beaten Ryle.
