  1. Gerry Cooper- Manual should be in the discussion.
  2. The last time we played them they also had a couple players coming of the flu or something I can't remember what they said, anyway both coaching staffs did well but it was really a difference in the players last night I think that made a difference. Their defensive line played much better than last time and their running game was much improved. Either way I am just glad that the Crimsons came through and won the game. At this stage it doesn't matter the score it is survive and advance, a one point win over PRP gets you to the same dance as a 64 point win over Butler.
  3. Yes it was great coaching on both sides of the ball, it was a great game. PRP really came out with a lot of spirit, I really saw a different Newman, this game and I understand why the Irish wanted him so bad. He is a heck of a player and that was something I didn't see from him last game. Also the running game of PRP was great this game where last game they seemed a step slower. Offensively Manual was sputtering a bit in the second half, and hampered on a few big penalties, but hats off the PRP seniors and coaches they did a great job! And the same goes for Manual's!
  4. This game will be at Manual... and we have a new scoreboard.
  5. I have a problem with this one myself. I am against the death penalty and abortion, but I have to say I am not going to protest march or rock the boat either way for either issue, only to say that morally I think that they are both wrong, yet there are times when I feel empathy for people that are victims of crimes and for women forced to make that choice. I don't ever agree with the death penalty or abortion, but I can empathize with the decisions and respectfully keep my nose out of it.
  6. For those that saw St. X tonight for the first time you have to realize that they had some major injuries and still came out the second half after being way down and won, I know that may not seem that impressive being at the game but the way it sounds to me that is scary good. St. X showed that they had the strength to come back without their star RB, that tells me that they are that good! Having seen them play at full strength and having seen some of the best teams in the state play this year in person and on TV I have to tell you anyone down playing the Tigers is crazy, that is by far the best team I have seen play this year. Not to say that I don't think and hope that my Crimsons have a shot at knocking them off,:thumb: but the Tigers are clearly the number one team at this point.
  7. Great win for BE. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.
  8. I think it does but it is dangerously full at that point it was nowhere near a packed house at Papa John's but it was safe and comfortable and the place was a rockin'. Papa Johns offers a buffer zone of the crunch zone and I think that keeps a lot of the silly stuff that happens along the crowded fence at Male or on the hill at Manual from taking place.
  9. Thanks PH and Mrs. PH! This is a special game for us Manual and Male alumni and even though the Bulldogs might not agree I think it is vital to have both teams see success in this rivalry, we may yet see the Ghosts of the past in the games of the future as the interest in this rivalry grow. We may not play on Thanksgiving anymore but this is still an important game and this year's dominate Crimson win should breath some life into this Old Rivalry. :dancingpa
  10. Game will play around 7 pm tomorrow night for those that what to see it in icn 2 in Louisville on insight.
  11. I have a hard time thinking that incident actually happened, they slapped five several times in the game, and everyone seemed to work as a team so if it happened it seems to have little ill effect at least last night.
  12. I thought they looked a bit sluggish the first half, but good, which is to be expected since this was the first game for the Cards and Carleton had 7+games under their belt. But the second half the Cards overwhelmed them with their athletic ability, post players, and depth. If the defensive press gets alot better and the foul shooting gets better this Cards team could be special.
  13. Already in another thread but Manual won the JV game 17 to 6 for what it is worth.
  14. It was only a 30 yard pass if you add the yards after the catch. They had plenty of room to stop him if they were covering. The other guy is my little brother and he wasn't at the game and had no clue what he was talking about he was just guessing. I was in the press box so I think I have a better vantage point of the situation. The coaches made the smart choice not to let BE back into the game, it was BE's job to stop Manual and they didn't, it was not running up the score, both our teams have done that to plenty of other teams before but that is not what was happening there, Bullitt East scored 18 points in the fourth quarter so it was the smart choice for Manual to pad the score to keep from a shoot out in the final minutes. I think since Manual won it was the smart choice if you disagree then fine, either way Manual and their Coaches get the win. Good luck to BE the rest the way. :thumb:
  15. It is always a great game to be at, the Male bulldogs have dominated the win column but Manual is usually in the game. I think that the Crimsons have a great shot this year and for once it is Manual with a viable passing threat, that will make the game interesting. For the first time in a long time this is not a district game so this is all about pride! Beat Male! Go Crimsons!
  16. It was a fun game to watch as a Cards fan. RRR and I went to the game and came away impressed by the depth of Louisville.
  17. What was the score of the Bullitt East Bullitt Central game this year BTW?
  18. Your team had just scored on our team and tried an onside kick and it was a short pass that broke for a td, not a shot in the endzone. It is not Manual's fault that your team botched the defensive play that let a ten yard pass go for a touchdown. Bullitt East is a good team we respect and they played the entire game. I am sorry that someone had to lose but it is not Manual's job to give them the game or let them back in with a few minutes left on the clock. The Manual coaches did a great job in that they kept a two score lead but did not run up the score. If you see it otherwise then we will have to agree to disagree, but in no way did Manual run up the score they were just ensuring victory, we had a close call against a good Shelby County team earlier and Bullitt East is too good a team to just mail it in. Manual kept a two score pad and let seniors and JV kids play if you are complaining about that then I can't help you. Also when a team is kicking onside kicks out of the huddle formation after they just scored, the general way you respond once that attempt fails is to score on that team to put them away. Again the SMART thing to do. Because if your team showed that they were not going to onsides and just run the clock out, we would have too, but your team was still trying to win (to their credit, with much respect to your coaches BTW) so our team was going to continue to play to win too. I am not trying to insult you in any way but I don't see how you can insult our coaches decision making when they just beat your team by a respectable but not humiliating amount.
