Color me impressed. I didn't know anything about Fern Creek, but from what I've read this last week it seemed they were a pretty solid team. They may have even been slightly favored.

Great job, Raiders! Can't wait to hear details on the game. It would certainly seem that Fern Creek's speed did not have much of an impact in this game? And put me down as someone who will take Schmitz' "slow" style of running any Friday night.

I understand Schmitz had 6 TD's in the first half and Fern Creek was undefeated until tonight.

I couldn't imagine that 6 TD's in a half by one player is not some kind of record. That is flat out remarkable. And, obviously, Ryle's offensive line must have just dominated.

Adam plays defense as well, I'am sure he got a breather at the half.

Probably a fairly safe bet that almost all the starters got a break after the half!

This is gonna make for some nice pre-game banter this week for the upcoming Ryle-Boone County game. Better get to Ryle REAL early if you want a seat for that game! I may just take off work that day and grab a seat around noon.

FC took a punt back for a TD on their first touch and it was all Raiders after that. Not sure of yardage but it did not seem like FC got a first down until nearly half time. On defense, FC seemed like they had nearly everyone at the line of scrimmage but Ryle's QB, Benke, kept running off tackle or around the end for big yards. I would guess that he was the leading rusher in the game. Great job, Raiders - you handed it to FC pretty darn good. Now, go get ready for Boone.

Fern Creek is a decent team but they have not really played a tough schedule to this point, although the score is tremendously lopsided I think the Tigers have not played a team as good as Ryle and folded under. Not taking anything from the Raiders, but I have to think that the Tigers have a better game in them than that, this must not have been a great night for them, and Ryle took care of their business and the Tigers did not.

One thing to note is that every marquee on Bardstown rd past Fairground rd. to the Gene Snyder has signs up rooting on Fern Creek, Churches and businesses alike. I am a Manual fan but living in Fern Creek it is nice to see the local community supporting the team.

Fern Creek was exposed by Ryle as the benefactors of a lightweight schedule and were way overrated. Everyone feels great when you are sailing along with a 7-0 record, but the time comes when you must look at yourself in the mirror and ask who have I really beaten at this point. With Male, Ballard and Eastern yet to come on the schedule, reality is about to be reinforced.

How could Fern Creek be rated 7th in the state with such a soft schedule?

Fern Creek played without sophomore quarterback Bryan Hynes for the entire game and right tackle Ryan Benzick (6 feet 5, 325 pounds) for the first half ...

Things were so bad for the Tigers that Higgins made them do pushups on the sideline during a timeout with 9:20 left in the second quarter.

"If I could have run them around the football field, I would have done that," said Higgins, whose team will face Male next week to decide the 6-A, District Four title. "They had quit because we were down 28-7 and dropped their heads on the sideline. I refuse to let them do that."
