Male vs. Manual
Already in another thread but Manual won the JV game 17 to 6 for what it is worth.

Manual 42 Bullitt East 31
It was only a 30 yard pass if you add the yards after the catch. They had plenty of room to stop him if they were covering. The other guy is my little brother and he wasn't at the game and had no clue what he was talking about he was just guessing. I was in the press box so I think I have a better vantage point of the situation. The coaches made the smart choice not to let BE back into the game, it was BE's job to stop Manual and they didn't, it was not running up the score, both our teams have done that to plenty of other teams before but that is not what was happening there, Bullitt East scored 18 points in the fourth quarter so it was the smart choice for Manual to pad the score to keep from a shoot out in the final minutes. I think since Manual won it was the smart choice if you disagree then fine, either way Manual and their Coaches get the win. Good luck to BE the rest the way. :thumb:

Male vs. Manual
It is always a great game to be at, the Male bulldogs have dominated the win column but Manual is usually in the game. I think that the Crimsons have a great shot this year and for once it is Manual with a viable passing threat, that will make the game interesting. For the first time in a long time this is not a district game so this is all about pride! Beat Male! Go Crimsons!

What was the score of the Bullitt East Bullitt Central game this year BTW?

Manual 42 Bullitt East 31
Your team had just scored on our team and tried an onside kick and it was a short pass that broke for a td, not a shot in the endzone. It is not Manual's fault that your team botched the defensive play that let a ten yard pass go for a touchdown. Bullitt East is a good team we respect and they played the entire game. I am sorry that someone had to lose but it is not Manual's job to give them the game or let them back in with a few minutes left on the clock. The Manual coaches did a great job in that they kept a two score lead but did not run up the score. If you see it otherwise then we will have to agree to disagree, but in no way did Manual run up the score they were just ensuring victory, we had a close call against a good Shelby County team earlier and Bullitt East is too good a team to just mail it in. Manual kept a two score pad and let seniors and JV kids play if you are complaining about that then I can't help you. Also when a team is kicking onside kicks out of the huddle formation after they just scored, the general way you respond once that attempt fails is to score on that team to put them away. Again the SMART thing to do. Because if your team showed that they were not going to onsides and just run the clock out, we would have too, but your team was still trying to win (to their credit, with much respect to your coaches BTW) so our team was going to continue to play to win too. I am not trying to insult you in any way but I don't see how you can insult our coaches decision making when they just beat your team by a respectable but not humiliating amount.

Manual 42 Bullitt East 31
Actually it was the smart thing because we had our starting running back out the whole game and half our normal starters out at that point in the game, if it were not for the passing game keeping us scoring we may well have turned the ball over on downs and Bullitt East might have actually threatened to pull within one touchdown. As it stands they didn't. So it seems like the right move to me.

6A Playoffs
As much as I would like to see greater parity in 6A football and more variation of teams in the final you can't argue with this, it is better to have the best two teams play each other in the finals. In fact I would rather see NCAA type seeding maybe using ap rankings and geography of playoffs discarding districts all together.

Bullitt East vs. Manual
It has been awhile but it used to be that Manual and Bullitt East scrimmaged each other on a regular biases. They were the first team I ever got to scrimmage against that was not my own teammates, and the first game I ever filmed. I had to sit on top of a hot metal school bus and film my little brothers playing from a cow pasture because they were working on the press box. I think Manual wins but I would never overlook BE, they are always tough.

Tougher Playoff route-6A-Truth be known
I guess the way I see it we were close in those games in the first place because of the coaches and players, where most teams would not even be close. It is kinda like the San Diego Chargers, everyone said their old coach could not win in the playoffs so they got a new coach, now they can't even win in the regular season. Fact is Trinity, Male and St.X have had great teams and I would say Manual has done as well as anyone against them, Manual did not lose to them because of bad coaching, there has been many reasons several bad audibles in closing drives, blown coverages and big plays made by great players on the other team. Fans only see results not behind the scenes. That is my opinion. Besides most posters on that hold that opinion are the ones that see Manual as a threat and are eager to discredit what progress has been made, people fear a big four...

Tougher Playoff route-6A-Truth be known
I find that statement offensive, Joe Nichols is a great coach and while St. X is a great team and could beat Manual in a rematch, it is not because Joe Nichols is a bad coach. How many other coaches have beaten both Male and Trinity in the last ten years? Fact is that Manual is one of the top ten programs in 6A and has become that in a district that until this year had Two of the big Three in it. Joe Nichols and the rest if the coaches do a great job for Manual.

Ryle 55 Fern Creek 10
Fern Creek is a decent team but they have not really played a tough schedule to this point, although the score is tremendously lopsided I think the Tigers have not played a team as good as Ryle and folded under. Not taking anything from the Raiders, but I have to think that the Tigers have a better game in them than that, this must not have been a great night for them, and Ryle took care of their business and the Tigers did not. One thing to note is that every marquee on Bardstown rd past Fairground rd. to the Gene Snyder has signs up rooting on Fern Creek, Churches and businesses alike. I am a Manual fan but living in Fern Creek it is nice to see the local community supporting the team.

St. X 76 Butler 0
Before anyone else does it... St X. has to play Butler they are in the district. Male and Butler are the main two Traditional schools in Louisville and have played each other in district for years before this years split so there is good reason why they play each other. It is not a matter of picking on a down team, it is like Henry Clay playing Bryan Station, or Corbin playing North Laurel. They are near each other geographically have history and no one knows how good a team is going to really be when they schedule them. It is Butlers job to stop St.X from scoring, as long as St.X is running and not passing (and lets face it the Tigers passing in any game is going to be a shocker) you cannot expect St.X's 2nd to 4th string to take a knee from the 2nd to 4th quarter. Butler is a team that is historically cyclic, they go from beating people 54-0 to losing 0-54 every three years, and I mean that with respect because I personally ended my playing days being beat 54-0 in the playoffs by the Bears, so I will not feel too sorry for them because the Bears will be back.:thumb:

Courier-Journal Litkenhous Ratings
That is not that bad, Male is a darn good team and a traditional powerhouse same as Highlands and Male is 6A. Main thing to remember here is that these get better the more games there are, basically I ignore them all together till about this week each year, and they are better the more games are played.
