I was at the game, Russell took the fight to the dragons and really played well, knocking down shots and rebounding with the much bigger dragons.

They split in the regular season and the tourn. was held at Cumberland Co. which helped the panthers. Cumberland was hot coming in having won 7 of their last 9, they are going to the 4th region tourn. for the first time in 10 years which happened to be the last time they won the district.

This was the Lakers first loss to a Ky team, Cumberland Co. played well and hung around till late and found a way, great game to watch !

Lynn Camp won by a small margian,Buckhorn won by 2, Whitley by 10 and Woodford was up big on Hancock in the 3rd, Marion Co. won the girls state tourney final that was played Sat. Rupp as well. The team had Tick Rogers former Mr. Basketball and former UK player Anthony Epps daughters on the team, they looked impressive.

Saw Whitley Co. today at Rupp and beat a scrappy Cumberland County team, they played very physical, I think the final was 52-42, Whitley shot it extremely well.

Edmonson is coming off of a great season and return a really good player in Junior Cody Rich, Cody has grown this summer and played well. The Wildcats will need to find another scorer to go with Rich. They play in a district they can compete in every year and have made the 3rd region tourny the past 2 seasons.

Glasgow certainly got better with the addition of Cameron Hall, they will have a great chance to win the 4th region "All A" and they are probably the favorite in District 15.

Coach Miller will put everything he has into the program and make it a winner in the region, he just needs some time, he turned a very bad I mean bad program into a winner when he arrived in Cumberland Co.

Logan Co. is kind of an unknown in the 4th region, they have a new coach from Eastern Ky, I believe he coached at Betsy Layne last season. They play in a difficult district with: Franklin-Simpson, Russellville, and a much improved Todd Co. Central team. I am sure one of their goals will be to play competitive in the region.

Can Menifee make the region tourney again, like they did in 05-06?

Monroe Co. will have one of their biggest senior classes in a while this season, they play in a tough district with Allen Co., Barren Co., and Galsgow so there isnt an easy district game, they have the potential to have a great season I dont know their schedule, but they seemed to be young last season so the team should have a better year this season.

They are coming of a great season for a "Class A" size school in the 4th region, with that being said they are hit hard by graduation and return only a few players with varsity minutes, finding a few players who can score will be important because they are going to be young and they are coached well so they will be in most of their games.

Coach Breeze was a graduate assistant under Coach Horn at Western the past few seasons.

You guys are "dropping the ball" so to speak about James David Strange, I like his game, he could have a tough year losing Day and Warren. I think the kid has a great game but is a bit undersized.

Coach Carwile, is a great coach, I have gotten to know him through the years, he was Ty Rogers head coach at Lyon Co. I think he was a grad assistant at Morehead a few seaons ago when Tyndall took over and spent last year at Hopkinsville High School.

The KHSAA usually has the appeal hearing quickly, I think they have a couple of days during the month they hear appeals.

They will be very athletic and they are participating in the "All A" again, they usually play a tough schedule during the season that includes, Warren Central and other bigger high schools. They are in a district with Todd Co., Logan Co., and Franklin Simpson, if they can a few reliable scorers they will be back on track.

They had a really good season last year, making it to the 4th region tourn. semi's. Byron Ellis returns as well as a good junior class, they will have an opportunity to win the 16th district and they are well coached by Willie Feldhaus.

Augusta will be coming down to Cumberland Co. on wed. and playing at Monticello on thurs. on their return from Cumberland College's team camp, they play: Green Co., Metcalfe Co., and Cumberland Co. on wed.

Athletic bunch of girls, it seems they need a coach to come and install an uptempo offense for them, they play in a very tough district and region.

The program is in current "limbo" without a coach, there are some big names rumored to be interested but that remains yet to be seen, it was a program that had alot of success in the late 80's and early 90's under Tommy Compton, the recent Coach did a good job as well making them competitive again, he recently took a job in Clarksville Tenn. where he is originally from. I look for them to remain competitive in a tough district and region.
