Bracken Co. Loyalty?

Recommended Posts

The Bracken Co. AD passed over a local Coach with 13 years experience,Chad Persinger. Chad has had great success at the Middle School level and deserved a chance at the High School. The new coach has no head coaching or assistant coaching experience at all. It would have been nice to have a basketball coach at Bracken Co. for more than 2 or 3 years, but the Bracken Co. administration does not seem to think loyalty means anything. Just the same ole song and dance.

Don't know who this is, is he related to the Breeze that helps coach middle school and high school football? Could possibly be good hire, had to be quick

Chad's bread is buttered with a very nice high school girls softball program that he has helped build. Don't know why he would have been interested in the boys program to begin with and don't see how he could do both with equal success. Think the hire was good, will have to see and besides middle school not even on the same level as high school or JV.

I would say Chad is upset enough over this decision the way it is. Besides, he has been a JV coach and varsity assistant several years in the past!

I dont think Mac Whitacker or Tony Sosby (at Bourbon) has had much of a problem coaching both things either and we are only single A. Good hire? So you see this guy being here in three years?? It doenst matter if it was a Pitino assistant, it is time these boys get a coach that is willing to hang around and not pack up and leave town every couple years!!

In reality he has never had a paid coaching job and is not listed on the WKU website as being part of the staff.

Bracken Co/Athletic Director thinks she can handle 2 jobs. Why can't a coach?

Are we limiting him only to softball..He can have a successful basketball program as well....but in reality Bracken won't give him the chance...He does have the support of parents and community.

Chad Persinger and Mac Whitaker mentioned in the same breath, you've got to be kidding, right? Let's have some Bracken alumni actually win a district or be competitive with teams other than Deming and Augusta and then can talk about loyalty. If want to talk about a good hire, should have gone back to the last good Bracken coach, Daniel Fisher.

You said Persinger has not coached beyond middle school and that is not true. He was under Daniel Fisher and Gary McKinney both and for that matter, Jon Wirth too. I guess you did not know that did you? No one was comparing him to anybody, just saying they coached Basketball and Baseball/softball at a larger school, so why not Persinger here at Bracken????

No need to bring Augusta & Deming into it! I don't understand why some on here feel it is necessary to pick on the little guy! Some programs play the hands they are dealt, I would think some on here would understand that!

Not gonna comment on this further because Breeze is the coach. Did not say Persinger had coached beyond middle, said middle wasn't in same league as varsity. Did he coach JV under Fisher and McKinney? If you say so then evidently he did, don't know why you would go from JV to middle school. If your gonna knock the AD and the hiring of someone you know nothing about, then be able to take criticism as well. You was the one saying he could do things like Coach Whitaker, that is the definition of comparing. If he is as good as you say he is and mad about being passed over, maybe he should start looking at other schools

Are you and Tubby joking, saying Bracken needs to be competitive against teams other than Augusta and Deming, what part of any of that is a knock on those 2 schools? Those 2 need to be more competitive against teams other than Bracken,is that better? Unbelievable what people try to make out of things.
