Getting numbers up. (Suggestions)
Old Football Fan replied to newarkcatholicfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
The single most important factor to getting numbers up is in school weight training. -
They didn't have to. It was ignorant to suggest what went out on the first draft.

Class 3A Rankings for 10-15

What everybody misses about sports is that everybody is a threat. All teams are just a few injuries from mediocre. I could see Monroe winning Friday. Why not they seem to do it about every year. I've got mad respect for the Falcons. -
Class 3A Rankings for 10-15

Williamsburg's quarterback was in the entire game. He was never out even when the score got out of hand. Wayne took the air out of the ball the second half. The game was only close through the 2nd quarter. After Williamsburg's QB threw a pick 6 the game was over. Gees Williamsburg threw 5 picks....give it a rest. -
Class 3A Rankings for 10-15

Central should be #1 until someone in 3A beats them. Belfry should be #2 until someone other than Central beats them. The rest are up for debate. -
5'10 160 SR, 4.5 40 yard dash, 4.3 shuttle time, he has almost 900 recieving yards right now, averaging 26 yards a catch, I think hes second in the state in recieving, receiving offers from all NAIA schools but I think he will get some bigger offers in a couple of weeks.

Dear Coaches with Powerhouse Teams
Old Football Fan replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Football (High School)
From the standpoint of maybe taking you from a contender to an average team.....yes. He shouldn't be on the field if your up 40. Most teams can't lose their best player and continue on the same path that they were. Your telling me that you wouldn't feel responsible for the kid getting injured with him being in a game that was over? -

Yes and wouldn't it have been something if Fant blowed his knee out getting 500 yards receiving. What if Hayes got hit and broke his collarbone up 56 to 3? I really hope you are joking with this post. You would definitely see things differently if you were a Logan County fan. -
Harrison County at Highlands 10/4 Predictions
Old Football Fan replied to Walter's topic in KY Football (High School)
I don't really see how you rank schools with arbitrary things like tradition, community support, etc. Number of kids doesnt matter in a lot of instances either. Heck if that determined what class I was in and I was a coach I'd cut my roster to be where I wanted to be. Thats not the spirit of high school athletics. At least what we have now is blunt and to the point. No sense and trying to make everything fair because life isnt fair. Get better, set your own team goals and work to achieve them. That's all we can do. -
Harrison County at Highlands 10/4 Predictions
Old Football Fan replied to Walter's topic in KY Football (High School)
Then you'll have people saying that the regular class's championship is tainted. In case you didnt know Highland's is a 3A school by numbers. They shouldnt be in a 4A district by numbers but they have to for geography sake. Financial considerations to schools are looked at first before competitiveness. -

Even in a 4 class system they would have still lost to a 1A school. Whats the difference? -

Are you kidding? Bell County has not pressure. It's Bell County. It's state title or bust. Lets just say I'm a Dudley fan. -

Old Football Fan replied to Jesse James's topic in KY Football (High School)
Wrong. Bell has all the pressure. If Wayne loses to Bell then it's just because they are Bell County. If Wayne beats Bell then Bell has fell off the map. The pressure is on Bell and Corbin to maintain their seat at the table. You can say what you want but Bell has been leaking oil since last year. You graduated a monster senior class, you had the rumblings in the offseason, the Cox boy hurt his arm, and you had a blowup at the banquet. You better hope your right about Bell because if your wrong it could get even more interesting. -

What does it matter if you schedule all those teams and get beat by them? Better worry about whats going on on your team's field. I would call getting blanked in your scrimmage, getting drilled by South Pittsburg and playing even with Marion County concerning. -

If we are pointing out how people moved the ball didnt Corbin score once on a hook and ladder? You going to take those yards off also?

The better question is would you know Dale Mueller even existed if he coached at Knott County Central. I take offense to some of you guys saying that this guy or that guy is the best 2 coaches in the state. You put Dale in a situation where he doesn't have 10 paid coaches on the staff, the tradition that Highlands has, the major D1 players he has had, and the money that is poured into that program along with the amount of kids not on free or reduced lunch and he would get real ordinary. He might have built Highlands into what it is today but I'm pretty sure they had success before Dale and would've had success even if he wasn't there. Dale is an outstanding coach but I don't think in high school that you can take a coach that has more boys to pick from, in the largest city and say he's better than Joe Schmo in Clinton County, Ky who has no advantages whatsoever and say that Beatty is the best coach in the state. These schools have advantages that others do not. Now if you want to say that Trinity's coach is better than St. X's then yes you can compare those two apples.
