  1. Cov Cath 30 SH 25 in the third. Any other updates? Who's playing well? Looks like a defensive battle? What's going on?
  2. The only thing this thread is missing is LuckyDog on here to bash Villa a little bit more. Where has he been?
  3. Didn't this argument already highjack another thread as well? Keep up the good work.
  4. I agree. St. Henry plays great defense though and very disciplined on offense. Coach Faust does a great job and probably knows Villa tendancies inside and out. Good luck!!
  5. This might be wishful thinking but in the box score from the last game it looks like Villa hung with them in the second half. However, Villa was already down 20 and kept the margin at 20 which isn't saying much, but I think there's a shot of the Blue Lightning pulling an upset. However, a longshot but the chance is there. Much better chance if they were playing....oh well, I don't know......Holmes or Highlands etc. How early in the 2nd half did St. Henry pull their starters during the last game? I'm hoping the boys from Villa Hills can pull off the upset. I'm sure the Cru as well as the Colonels and Bluebirds are shaking in their boots. St. Henry - 22 29 10 21 - 82 Villa - 13 16 16 15 - 60 Go Lightning! Good luck.

  7. As much as I am going to enjoy watching the bulldogs making a run downstate, I would love to see the tigers pull off the upset. However, the likelihood of that happening is pretty slim. With that being said... Go Beechwood.
  8. DIII All-Conference honorees are: Hall - Beechwood Flannigan - Calvary St. Blanchard - Heritage Bryan - Villa Pelle - Silver Grove Romes - Beechwood Eastin - Dayton Williamson - Ludlow Glass - Calvary Player of the Year - Love - Villa Mr. Hustle - (tie) Hamilton - Villa and St. Blanchard - Heritage Defensive POY - Prusinowski - Calvary Academic - Javins - Heritage
  9. I have Villa in this game, but I think its going to be a lot closer than people think. Villa has losses to teams that they had beat once before and it looked to me they thought they could walk over them again. (Calvary/Bellevue/Dayton) I hope that they take Ludlow seriously and bring their A game.
  10. I agree. Let me rephrase that: How about a Bellevue/Dayton vs. Villa/Ludlow match up in the regionals. I know its very, very, very unlikely but it would be fun. It would also be fun to hear all the bigger schools whine about it.
  11. It was a great game. Villa couldn't buy a basket in the first quarter and the Greendevils came out on fire. Villa got two good looks at the end. Love's three with a second or two left and Bryan's steal and half court shot with 1.1 seconds left. Great game Greendevils good luck against Bellevue. How about a DIII rematch in regionals?
  12. I believe Hamilton guarded Romes for most of the game. Romes scored 14 points, 10 of which came from free throws. I'm sure he pulled down a handfull of rebounds.
  13. And score 531 points in 24 games. And have over 100 assists and over 56 steals, but thats it. Stephen is Villa's best player, but Bryan has opened things up for him and helped him have a great season. Too bad for Love, I'm sure if Bryan hadn't shown up he would've scored over 1,000 points this season alone. Lucky Dog, what is your beef with Villa?
  14. They haven't run the table yet! Go Ludlow! 13-1 is still a great accomplishment.
  15. I agree. Well said. Beechwood definitely battled back. They are a heck of a team. I definitely got my money's worth too with this game.
  16. The paper said Beechwood outscored Villa 13-9 in the 4th Q. Is that domination? I agree that this game shouldn't have been in OT. Some very poor calls by the refs and a quite a few more mistakes by Villa practically wrapped up the game for the Tigers. Happy Valentine's Day! Consider it a gift from the boys in Villa Hills.
  17. Villa Madonna plays at Beechwood on Feb. 15th. Any thoughts on this game? As a Blue Lightning fan I was really hoping Calvary could have knocked off the Tigers. I think Villa has a chance. Their first game was close but........... Romes was out. Now it could be a different story. Good luck Blue Lightning.
  18. Stephen Love scored 32 points Blake Bryan scored 22 Brian Hamilton scored 11 points Kyle Williamson scored 21 points Grant Logan scored 20 Jarett Rouse had 10 Close game. Villa led by 1 going into the 4th quarter and Ludlow was forced to foul late in the 4th. This win brings Villa's record to 13-9 Ludlow's to 9-11
  19. What is your opinion on this scenario? The offensive player is dribbling to the basket to make a lay-up. The offensive player is under control just going to make a regular run of the mill lay-up. The defensive player tries to take the charge may or may not be set. Both players hit the floor hard. Could be a charge, could be a block. No call from the official. No block. No player control foul, just no whistle. What is the reasoning behind this? If I had a dollar for every time I've seen this this year I'd probably have about ten or eleven dollars. Talking to one official after one of the games I saw this occur the explanation was that the offensive player jumped into the defensive player. Doesn't make sense to me but then again I'm not a straight A student by any means
  20. Villa 31 25 15 12 - 83 Dem 15 21 14 22 - 72 Villa jumped out in the 1st by hitting 11 of their first 11 shots. Bryan scored 30 points. Including 5 three pointers. Love scored 28 points. Including 4 three pointers. This game was definitely not a defensive showcase.
  21. Maybe I was mistaken or sitting in the wrong part of the stands. I still believe the coach down there is doing a good job with what he's got.
  22. Beechwood closes out conference play with games against Heritage, Bellevue, Calvary, Villa, and Ludlow. Will BW finish the season undefeated in coference play?
