  2. I could almost say for a FACT that most coaches really want to compete for championships and build a program. Maybe I'm wrong. Good luck tigers.
  3. I'm split too, but I think I lean towards seeding. However, in a draw, if one big school draws another big school, in the first round of the districts aren't they still getting the opportunity to compete for the region? Just like all the small schools in each district are given an "opprotunity" to compete for a regional berth if they're seeded or draw against a big school.
  4. I'm pretty sure Villa gave Beechwood its toughest games the past two years in DIII. Last years second game was a lot closer than the final score showed and the year before they went to overtime. That was about as interesting as it got in DIII. I know the past few years there have been some battles between Dayton and Villa too. A few overtime games and some buzzer beaters. It should be interesting. I still see Beechwood on the top until someone knocks them off. Then I see Dayton and Villa fighting them for the top spot. I think it will be interesting this year for sure.
  5. Put the ball in the basket. Play defense. This could be a pretty good year for Villa.
  6. I agree. So why does the fact that if Bryan can't drop those numbers againt them automatically eliminate him from the top 10 in the 9th region?
  7. Are there any players in the top ten in the 9th region who can drop 30-35 on Holmes? Boone? Highlands? .... or even Ryle or Conner?
  8. Cut and pasted from another thread: Dayton gets a bye and will face the winner of St. Henry/Newport, Villa takes on NCC. I believe Beechwood and Dayton are on the same side as Newport and St. Henry. HC would play the winner of Villa/NewCath. Bellevue is also on NewCath's side, and I think Heritage is also. Anyone else have info on the All A? Villa got a pretty good draw. NCC and then Holy Cross. (cakewalk)
  9. No more rumors on this one? I heard from my girlfriends friends uncle's cousin's friend at 31 Flavors that Coach Krzyzewski was seen on the Highlands campus last week and may be interviewing for the job. Anything? Carr? The Codes? Schumate? Starkey, Ford, Lonneman, Driskell, Duddey, Shields?
  10. I hope Schumate stays at Beechwood, as I'm sure a lot of Beechies are.
  11. What is going on down in Bellevue?? (if its true the coach is out of there) I feel bad for those kids, how many coaches is that in how many years? Wow.
  12. I've heard from a very reliable source that Matt Ford, long time assistant at Villa is NOT interested in applying for the Highlands job.
  13. Who was the leading scorer in Northern Kentucky? Wasn't he a junior this year?
  14. When to they appoint coach of the year and POY for the 9th region?
  15. No way! Did any Beechwood fans get kicked out of the arena?
  16. Next year should be interesting between these two teams. Both of their games this year went down to the wire. They return just about the same team and should be battling for the top spot for DIII.
  17. Maybe all the DIII schools should just fold their athletic programs because they're just "intramurals," and all the good players should just transfer to the big schools with "real" programs. Or Villa, Dayton, Ludlow, Silver Grove should just play Holmes CovCath and Highlands every year so they'll all live up to Flops standards.
  18. These greendevils are still pretty young. I think next year may be their year to take DIII. I think the coaching staff does a great job with what they have.
  19. Junior guard Blake Bryan sank four 3-pointers en route to his game-high 40 points as the Villa Madonna boys' basketball team defeated Dayton 84-81 Tuesday. Dayton led by nine after the first period and eight at halftime, but Villa Madonna rallied to outscore Dayton 43-32 in the second half. Junior forward Timmy Massey led Dayton with 19 points.
