Who has projected Calvary at #1 and Dayton at #2? Just wondering where you found these pre-preseason rankings. I take it Beechwood is ranked #3?? -

Calvary is picked by who to win the conference? -
There was so much talk about it on other threads thought I'd throw it out there for fun. Bryan, Eastin, Romes, Snyder, or Flannigan? Are there any other front runners? Buettel?

Kentucky teams traveling in July

Are there any rosters for these teams?? -
How come none of the seniors were voted to the 9th region coaches association all-star team?? I thought Kessen would've been a shoe-in.

I think Coach Ford would do a great job as a head coach. It seems like Bellevue always has tough kids who play hard and then seem to always find someone who can put the ball in the bucket.

Villa Madonna 2008/2009
bigblue88 replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Villa's teams are definitely seeing their fair share of some success. However, there usually isn't that much talk about them on this site until now. Their girls basketball team has also done pretty well the past few years and will probably continue to get better throughout the next few. Most of their top scorers this year were sophomores. Hopefully they can continue the success and the support in the stands as well as on this site and in the papers. -

Villa loses: Westmoreland Clarke Bilbo Hamilton Love Stoffer Creaghead I think the only other players who played or dressed this year on the varsity level are: Schuh Bryan Schroth Duggan Duncan Trinkle They lose a lot and I bet Coach Starkey wishes Westmoreland and those seniors could stick around another year or two. -

Villa loses 7 seniors from last year's team and returns only 1 starter. (Bryan) They have a lot of empty spots to fill. There were a few sophomores who played JV this year that were decent and should find significant time on the varsity level next year. Other than that the coaches have their work cut out for them. -

I agree. A few other players are going to have to step up over there in Villa Hills to get a few wins. -

Villa Madonna has a few sophomore guards (juniors next year) that could be pretty good. Bryan, Schuh, Schroth. However, I don't think Bryan is a darkhorse for next year. The other two guards did well on the JV level and will probably get a lot of varsity time next year. -
Congrats to all players and coaches! Henderson had to rent a truck to take home all his awards. Villa was also awarded the Bob Miller Sportsmanship award. Which goes to the school that shows the best sportsmanship throughout they year and is voted on by 9th region officials.

If Holmes wins. I heard that Mace bought some of those strength-building jump shoes and has been working out in his basement while snowed in over the weekend and now he's running and jumping like Derrick Brown. -
Did you know that Villa's coach helped write a book on basketball drills and plays? I don't know if its against rule #1 to post it or not but here's a link to amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Basketball-Drills-Plays-Strategies-Comprehensive/dp/1558708103 I didn't know where to post it either but I liked the word angstrom and thought I'd quote the post just see it again.
