St. Henry v Villa (9th Region 1st Round)

Featured Replies

Predictions?

Well...I guess folks feel that this game is a walk for the Cru given the previous two outcomes already this year...

1/25/08 @ All "A" Classic: Cru 80 - VM 45

2/22/08 @ St. Henry: Cru 82 - VM 60

I say, if VM improves another 15 points, this could be quite a game!

St Henry got a good draw for the first round. I'll give the cru the advantage by 20 again.

St Hank 76

Villa 52

St. Henry by 25.

St. Henry by 16

St. Henry has the advantage. I'm rooting for Villa.

Tough to call a point margin. Depends how early St. H. lets the third string play.

St. Henry wins by 19, starters will get plenty of rest in this one.

This might be wishful thinking but in the box score from the last game it looks like Villa hung with them in the second half. However, Villa was already down 20 and kept the margin at 20 which isn't saying much, but I think there's a shot of the Blue Lightning pulling an upset. However, a longshot but the chance is there. Much better chance if they were playing....oh well, I don't know......Holmes or Highlands etc. How early in the 2nd half did St. Henry pull their starters during the last game?

I'm hoping the boys from Villa Hills can pull off the upset. I'm sure the Cru as well as the Colonels and Bluebirds are shaking in their boots.

St. Henry - 22 29 10 21 - 82

Villa - 13 16 16 15 - 60

Go Lightning! Good luck.

Actually, I think this is the best chance Villa has. I know the two previous meetings were not that close but, drawing Cov Cath or HHS could have disastrous and Conner is on their home floor. Any team that can shoot has a chance.

I want to see how the Villa boys react with all those people there. You have to figure all of the Cov Cath and Highlands fans will be there for the start of this game in order to get a good seat (since they are not clearing the gym). And, you know that both teams will be cheering for Villa because an upset would ensure a trip to the finals for the winner of the Cov Cath/Highlands game.

That being said, Faust is too good, and Villa can't compete late in games because they have a short bench. Villa must come out and build confidence in themselves early, or this one could get out of hand.

St. Henry 82 Villa 66

I agree.

St. Henry plays great defense though and very disciplined on offense.

Coach Faust does a great job and probably knows Villa tendancies inside and out.

Good luck!!
