X vs. Manual
I haven't read too much about special teams (placekickers/ punters) Seems to me that these teams may be evenly matched on O and D. Anybody have insight on the kicking game of each school? Turnovers and field position can decide this one.I'll take a shot in the dark. St. X's depth will prevail. X 21-14

Male vs Central Predictions
Sorry 4Life, I know that Central is known for their speed, but after seeing both in 7on7 and games MALE has a pretty decisive advantage with skill kids. I love what Coach Scroggins is doin' with Central, but not this week.

Butler vs. Trinity
Butler in struggling mightly on the offensive side of the ball. I believe that they fell way behind JH before they scored. I also believe that they were held to negative yards rushing (less than 50 total)vs. Eastern. Their schedule is brutal. Play the Rocks tough and use it as a learning experience down the road.

Bowling Green vs Trinity Predictions
Talked to a former long time defensive coach a T. He tells me that this may be the best defensive team the Rocks have fielded in the past twenty years. If so, BG will be lucky to score, much alone have a shot to win

Who wins between Bardstown and Nelson County
From what I remember, they scored against Eastern's second team. I didn't see the Shelby Co. scrimmage

The heat this Friday?
Games fall under the same rules as practices. If the heat index is too high the games will be delayed. Most start in the evening so the index should be okay by then

Trinity and St Xavier question?
One question that would have to be answered is what to do with the lower levels. Can't imagine them playing a national schedule(cost). Can't imagine too many Jefferson Co. schools playing them.

Who wins between Bardstown and Nelson County
I haven't seen Bardstown, I saw Nelson scrimmage Eastern. Nelson has decent speed, but not a bunch of size. If Bardstown is able to pound the ball at the interior of Nelson's defense it will be a long day for the Cards.

Highlands/Lou Male Scrimmage
Guys, a couple thing to remember concerning Dexter. First and foremost, he is being recruited to play in a college system. He won't be playing in Redman's calamity defense. Secondly, this was his first action since recovering from his foot fracture. I have seen him play before, he is the real deal. I am sure that any coach in Kentucky would like to have him.

Lou. Central/ vs. DuPont Manual
Central has a good group of skill kids, Manual has a very good group of skill kids.(saw both teams in 7on7). These games are usually decided on the line of scrimmage. Manual by at least three scores.

Predict your team's final W-L record
Hearsay, my apologies, after Rereading I see that JDDog had the original post. So, if I may, I will pose the previous questions to JD also

Predict your team's final W-L record
HEARSAY, this is the first that I have read concerninig Eastern or Seneca Scrimmages. I will assume that you saw the JH/ Eastern scrimmage. Does Eastern have the talent to have a successful season? What are some strengths/weaknesses? I believe that they scrimmage Nelson Co. on 8/16 at Nelson. That would make Eastern a common opponent to guage JH and Nelson by. Has anyone seen Seneca?

Who will be Mr. Football 2007?
Now that we have revised the four class system to six classes, do we need to revise the Mr. Football award? Is it time to give an award to a player in each classification? I personally would have a difficult time comparing stats between guys that play predominantly 6a competition compared to guys that play 1a. What about players whose teams play games against bigger schools? I think that "level of competition" should be a major factor for the "powers that be", when voting. Would the award have less prestiege if their were multiple winners? Thoughts?

Does anyone have places or dates on 7 on 7 competition?
UofL is hosting their 7on7 on Sat. June 2nd. There is a NIKE sponsored combine @ Old Cardinal Stadium at 8:00am. Linemen camp at UofL that day also.

Top QB's this year in '07
Steven Ferguson from Eastern is a heck of an athlete. He certainly is a double threat. He is being recruited as an "athlete" because he is not your typical pocket passer. He is dangerous on the move and an excellent option QB. Matthews from Shelby Co. is just the opposite. He has very good pocket pressence and throws an accurate ball. Pryor from Ballard is a combo of the above mentioned. Good arm, can run if needed.

Fans Pre Season Top 10 - Class 6A
I know that both of these guys played major roles in the success of their teams last year but, Male and Trinity past histories suggest that both will reload not regress. Trinity has to be the early favorite followed by Male. Henry Clay and X would be nip and tuck for 3rd and 4th. I would then rate Ryle and Scott Co. 5th and 6th. IMO Ballard, PRP, Tates Creek, Eastern, Manual, Dunbar, and Henderson Co merit consideration for the 4 remaining spots(no particular order)

I'm sure that Coach Huggins is going to do a great job at Fern Creek. I don't know how much effect that working under Redman will have. The head coaches at the other three schools worked under very good coaches also. Having a year under his belt will definitely help the fine young QB in his maturation process. I will say that both Ballard and Eastern have three year varsity starters at QB. I believe that both young men will be offered scholarships(IMO) when all is said and done. I hope to see all three schools ranked in the top ten at seasons end.

Fans Pre Season Top 10 - Class 6A
Pep, I find this to be a very interesting quote. I will not disagree that this district is not the strongest in 6a. However, I don't see how Fern Creek could replace any of the remaining teams(Eastern, Ballard, Seneca) and strengthen the district. I do believe that all three of those teams got the better of Fern Creek last season.
