Wow, if all 6A D5 teams win they will all have 13 points! Tiebraker rules may get used to the very last level. I want to start a movement to do it like some states do.....shootout!!! 1 quarter against all tied teams round robin. If tied at the end of the quarter each team gets 4 plays from the opponents 10 yard line! I bet the gate on that would be nice!

To whoever said (paraphrasing) if they were a young dynamic player they would sure look at Ballard.... Probably NO middle schoolers on here but if there were there is another school in the East(ern) that has done just well against Ballard and puts up points. I am biased of course.

All the games were taped and some were broadcast live. Maybe a new recruiting tool since most colleges cannot come to 7 on 7's. I think there is some legs to people wanting to watch it. Only true coaches watch the lines anyways (sadly).

We had a local case of this and someone said something very relevant. Coaches should run their program and let newspapers, message boards, etc run their specific businesses too. Coaches have nothing to gain by getting involved with these kinds of things. There is too much to get done with running a program behind the scenes.

I just got an email that Central Hardin has posted for a head coach. Anyone have details?

They are interviewing 7 candidates on Wednesday and should have a hire by Thursday (allegedly). Do not know who they are.

Just heard Jeff Norman will be the new head coach at Iroquois High School. I do not know much about him other than he used to be the head coach out in the counties.

Wasn't he only there a year? It seems this was open last year too or am I mistaken?

You all are right. Being a coach, I believe most wins are accomplished December through May before the summer break/vacations/trips/etc kick in. Waiting to interview in Ferburary and then hiring even later burns the first fall season for sure for a new coach.

Why did the last coach leave halfway through the season?

I see the West Jessamine posted to the KHSAA. What is this program like? I see it has been horrible and they are in a tough district with Lex Cath and Boyle County. Any info?

You all are right on several things. First working with Shawn was one of the best people I have worked with. I am sure he will have other opportunities and will want other opportunities. You all are also right baout the culture thing. I would take the kids out to eat sometimes after practices and 0 would have to call anyone and let them know where they were going and what they were doing!!!

Hello, I see this job is open again. I coach in FL now but I helped out there last year when we went 4-6. I see this year looked to be a disaster 0-10 no real competitive games. Wow, the culture of the shcool with both students and admin. makes this a really tough place to do business. What do some of my more experienced peers think about this situation? I have seen the talent walk the halls and this team should have had a great nucleus of kids back. I also have seen Spring cancelled because they thought they could show up whenever. I have also seen admin. declare several kids inel. for a game on Friday at 5:00 p.m. on more than one occassion. I am surprised that this job actually posted as open instead of letting it die.

wow, you are right i know more about louisville football but I meant to say that I think if Bracken were to give anyone fits this year it would be a BIG improvement. I am sure Trimble is a good team....I was reffering to Bracken being a success if they gave anyone fits this year.

Looks like there is not much interest on this thread but I passed through this and a few other shcools while looking for land in that part of the state. I watched about 30-40 underclassmen workout. They need some development but I think the numbers will surprise some. Alsow ith the next district I believe they have a real shot at giving everyone but Frankfort fits. Coach Faust has done an excellent job along with the AD, Prinicipal, and Super at giving him everything he wants. New Colts replica jerseys, new locker room expansion. I think this will become a wnated job in the northern kentucky area next time it comes open.

Yes they will, they opened up some teaching spots for coaches and are filling them. The numbers will be surprisingly big because about 40 freshmen particpated in off-season workouts. The whole community is getting involved with some administrators starting flag football leagues and other things to develop the talent there.

In some conversations that I have had there are about 15 that applied and they were wanting to see what teaching positions opened up to set up interviews. So it is not a coach thing for sure. I also know the admin. seems to feel unfairly accussed of wanting the program to tank but I do not know much about the admin or what they have or have not done.
