  1. Do you have access to buses from both counties? I would think that if you would prefer to attend one county over the other then you could make a rational argument either way.
  2. My Valentines Day started out horribly (I'm a social worker and started my day at UK hospital with a kid) but . . . it sure ended WONDERFULLY as dh, dd and I sent the evening watching Elliott win!! Even we were on 3 separate sides of the gym we were able to share the experience together!!:sssh: Ofcourse . . . then got home and dh asked me when Valentine's Day was!! :ohbrother:
  3. Around here mailing address don't mean much. We have entire areas in Elliott that have Carter County addresses. My assumption would be that you would be expected to attend the county in which your residence (where the house is located) resides. If you want to attend Kenton County, just add onto your house and put your child's room in Kenton County! I personally can't believe that Kenton County allows your property tax (for the portion of land that is in Kenton) to be given to Pendleton County.
  4. Here's an article from the ADI about Ferg (not as much as I would have thought but oh well!) and the EC win. http://www.dailyindependent.com/localsports/local_story_045235110.html
  5. Congrats Morgan!! You're hard work is paying off!
  6. I've watched a lot of basketball over my 40+ years (a lady never tells her age ) and I can tell you this . . . yes . . . most of our boys fall into the 6'1" to 6'7" range, but their hearts add about a foot to each of them. I've never seen a group of boys play as hard and fast as these do. So . . . as the ol' saying goes . . . don't judge a book by it's cover because . . . you just might get more than you bargained for!:ylsuper:
  7. We knew that someone would downplay the win!:ohbrother:
  8. I agree!! Several "invitations" were extended but no one else accepted. THANKS to the Ballard team, administration and fans. It was an exciting game. Hope to see you again at the Sweet 16! The 173 comment cracked me up!!!!
  9. Congrats Greg. He's got the experience since he and the Faulkners have been coaching all year.
  10. I agree with you!! We've not had a "student section" since these boys were freshman (I used to LOVE the D fense sign). The students are scattered throughout the gym, not concentrated into one specific area like they used to be. I can't understand why the principal did that. So the parents had to step up and fill that role!!!:ylsuper:
  11. 3-peat, I'll try to tone it down!! :jump: NOT!!!
  12. Tonights performance should convince everyone that Elliott will be a major contender at the Sweet 16!
  13. CONGRATS FERG!!!!!! CONGRATS to Evan Faulker also for receiving his basketball for reaching 2000 points!!!
  14. I'm sure there are enough farmers around here that we can have a train of bandwagons to accomodate everyone!!!!!:ylsuper: CONGRATULATIONS ELLIOTT!!!! You've shown the rest of the state that you are the real deal!!!!! :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa
  15. BIG win for East. I'm surprised by the outcome! I would have picked Fairview to win. They're a tough team when they're all healthy. East has really started pulling it together in the last month.
  16. Thanks Polarbear!!! We sure hope to be there! :ylsuper:
  17. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! I guess the hubby and I will be celebrating it separately this year. He had to work today  and I'll be at the bball game (GO ELLIOTT!!). Oh well . . . after 20 years of marriage it's just another day!!
  18. CONGRATS to the Lady Lions!! :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa I can't comment on the OT as we were lined up for Senior Night!
  19. Fleming played a very rough, physical game. During the 1st half, there was an intensional (IMO) foul where one of the Elliott boys was slung around and the officials and players had to step between the two players involved. No technical was called!! But in the 2nd half, Ferg made a really good basket and showed some emotion and the "T" IMMEDIATELY was called against him. IMO, that was a horrible call on both of these. The first was intensional (the slinging occurred after the whistle and the ball was dead) but nothing was called. The second, was a kid expressing some emotion. These boys are emotionally vested in each and every game, but they are expected to maintain a flat affect throughout their race. With all that said . . . good win Elliott!!! Senior night was a sad!! There were so many of us on the floor that we had to make 2 lines! Graduation will be like a county wide funeral.
  20. I was in Pikeville when the initial storm hit and I can tell you . . . it was AWFUL!!!! The wind was forcing our SUV all over the road. We even saw a huge motel sign pulled up out of its base enough to make it sit slanted!:scared: Then the rainbows came out!! The first one was probably the brightest I've ever seen. The second of the double wasn't as prominent but still pretty. The closer we got to Prestonsburg we could see beautiful blue skies again. Then the dark clouds took back over. There were tries/debris all over the road and the road was closed coming into Salyersville because a roof had been pulled off a house and was laying all over the road! CRAZY WEATHER!!!:isurrender:
  21. Unfortunately you're right on the voyeurism charge but ONLY if the girls weren't wearing anything under those skirts. As a social worker, I've learned that in order to make that stick, the photos must show the specific areas (not covered by clothing). That being said . . . I'm sure glad the bleachers in our gym aren't "see through". I sure wouldn't want ANYONE taking pictures like this of my daughter . . . and I'm SURE my hubby would have something to say about it! :madman::madman::madman:
