mcraycraft these are impressive stats for Omar! Mason Monroe's would be similar except for blocks. Haven't seen the final stats yet. I think Monroe averaged around 12-13 points a game. But the offense wasn't centered around Monroe either although he drew alot of the opposing coaches and teams focus also. As an 8th grader starting varsity last year Monroe shot 51.75% from the field, 42.5% from three and 72.2 % from charity stripe. I am curious to see what his frosh stats are this year. No doubt about it these two will be fun to watch in the 10th for the next three years!!

Anyone have updates on the 9th Region finals?

I will take the Royals on their home floor. If I was Mason I would take it right to them inside and get them in foul trouble. GRC bench is very, very thin. I like the Mason guards also over GRC. However I do like Stenzel alot but Daniel is shaky running the point. Last GRC is too big of a team and theysettle to shoot to many three's for their size.

This statement is ridiculous :lol: This kid just ended his freshman year and is close to scoring 500 varsity points to date. He took a couple bad shots last night and had one driving lay up blocked. You have never played basketball if you have never had your shot blocked. No matter what your size. Monroe has put up 17 on Clark Co Jaylen Daniel and 16 on Phil Barner from Bryan Station to just name a few. Monroe has played against bigger guards than he sees in HS during his AAU games. He only shot about 6-8 attempts per game on this years team. To say he can't get a shot off inside or out is just plain and simple wrong. Mason County put their best defender on him last night in Lang and after the game he had nothing but good things to say about the freshman. Monroe will most likely have more opportunities to score in games for the next three years!

The PC Faithful and students were amazing last night. I would expect an even BIGGER crowd tonight. The kids that play for Pendleton past and present must feel like UK players feel with the post season following they get from their fans! I am glad my team won the game last night and I enjoyed the victory, but I was sad for MC senior Azrey Crisp. Az had a tough night but is just a super kid! I have watched him play for the last six years and my family have become friends with Az, Austin and their parents Doug and Sylvia. They are good people and we will always treasure their friendship. I believe Az will play somewhere next year at the next level. Go Cats! RTL!!!

Dillon Greene "had that look" in his eyes last night that he nor his teammates were going to be denied the victory. Great game offensively and defensively for Dillon last night.

I am not sure but kind of doubt it. I did not see the regular season game they played at Montgomery. I would think Prewitt is more of a two guard where Monroe is a point guard.

This game includes two of the top freshman in the region in Mason Monroe from Pendleton County and Omar Prewitt from Montgomery County. They are both friends and fierce competitors. These two have played against each other on the AAU circuit for many years and both have mutual respect for each other. If you watch closely you will probably see these two talking to each other and smiling during the game.This game should be a dandy and could be possibly the best 1st round game of the tournament. This game is a toss up and could go either way. I am just going to enjoy watching these two future stars of the 10th region for the next few years. Both have made their mark on the basketball scene this year.

Also Pendleton with a chance to advance to the semi-finals. :popcorn:

I don't know how much you have seen this kid play mcpapa? But Jody Demling of the Courier Journal has him rated in the top of his freshman rankings in the state. See his blog on 2/16/10. I agree this kids composure is amazing. He plays the point and runs the team like a junior or senior. He is very fun to watch play the game and is very unselfish. If he wanted he could put up 20 plus points every night. But on this years team they do not need him to that.

I think there is alot of talent coming back for Pendleton. Not to take anything away from this years seniors but the junior, sophmore and freshman class are very talented. They have size and guard play, a very good combination that will make their mark in the schools history of the program. Go Ladycats! This season and beyond!!

No, Monroe did not play in the Frosh District.

Omar is the best I have seen but I haven't seen every freshman.:lol: Another 10th region sharpshooter is the southpaw from Pendleton County Mason Monroe. He shot 42.5% (17/40) last year in varsity action as an 8th grader. He shoots for a high percentage but does not have a high attempt mainly because he is counted on to get the ball up the floor and set up the offense. When he does shoot them they are usually big time baskets. He hit two big ones in their win over Bryan Station to put them in the lead at 42-40 and one at the end of the 3rd quarter a buzzer beater to put them up 45-40.

Yes 10-8 and out of the 18 games they have played only three of them have been home games. They are truly becoming "Road Warriors".
