Did Montgomery expose a weakness for Clark? Could "slow ball" be their Kryptonite?

Clark's weakness is definitely PG play and we all know in March that PG play is what is most important.

Weakness? No true point guard. I know they say that Daniels is the point guard but when the chips-are-down, Stenzel is the one that is handling the ball. He is a great player, but not a point guard.

Teams playing slow down ball are 0-3 against GRC. Memphis tried it to bring them out of a 2-3 zone Ballard tried it to bring them out of a zone and Montgomery tried it to save a blow out. Didn't work period. As far as the point guard we use at least three players on offense to bring the ball down, Chase Kindred has developed as the best choice but Robbie and Jaylen are both more than capable. Our only weakness seems to me has been nights that the passing was bad we have struggled. A few games too many people tried to do too much. When we play as a team we can beat anyone in the state!

I think GRC is an entirely different team without Corey Rogers. Purvis and Rogers are entirely different style players. Purvis is happier outside and him and Zollo have an inside/outside game. But with Rogers able to play, Clark pounds it inside to the bigs so much it then opens up the three for Stenzel and Kindred. I think Clark is more dangerous with Rogers in the game.

While I would disagree with your assessment (because Montgomery did it to give themselves their best chance to win) If Montgomery did slow it down to avoid a blow out it most certainly did work.

I agree, it sure did.:ylsuper:

It worked big time....you gotta believe if another with more height played this type of game the entire night that it would make a difference.

MC was going to struggle on the boards. So every shot had to count. With more size, I think a slow game does not suit Clark Co.

Also, Clark took some, IMO, ill advised 3 point shots with noone in postion for rebounds. If these shots do not fall, Montgomery County is back in the ball game because Prewitt came down and nailed a three and I think Hanshoe came down and nailed a three.

From the outside looking in, it appears that Clark's weakness is between their ears. They have to start believing they are going to win the tough games and not put pressure on themselves or play with less confidence when the going gets tough.

Any positivies? Let's talk about the 7 other teams weaknesses. I see weaknessess in all teams. It's strange that most of these comments come from people from other areas.

When are you as big and talented as Clark is ....it is a waste of time to talk about your positives. They are endless, but the negatives may get you beat. So, it interesting discussion if nothing else.

In the 10th region, Clark is clearly the favorite.

So, why not talk about what they must do or avoid to win. When you have 5-6 players taller than 6'5", you can expect the "monkey to be on your back" to be the winner.

Talk about the other teams weaknesses all you want. Everybody knows they have weaknesses, including them.

Bring it on is all I can tell you! Clark obviously has less weakness than anyone else or we wouldn't even be posting in this thread. Montgomery County never had a chance to beat GRC and even if the score is 2-0 they still lose. Keep trying to figure it out because you still have another year to figure it out !:ylsuper:
