  1. If he beats Carrol and Gallatin, he will get the key to the city.
  2. Coach Fowler is a very good young Coach, who is always eager to attain KNOWLEDGE, that will allow him to provide better service to his student athletes. Hopefully, he gets the support that is needed, to get the Owen County program moving in the right direction. His Mentor is Jerry Lucas, former Western Hills Head Coach, and The Guru behind the Shelby County Offense. Best of luck to Coach Fowler.
  3. Tall Trees, he will be an Assistant who will have Defensive and Special Team Assignments....DC is merely a Title, if you Google his name (Tommy Acklin), you will see that he will be a great addition to any staff...As Coach Bucket stated ealier, one of the best Football Minds around....
  4. 58 Reasons you are so right in reagards to the Stingy Defense.....It has Migrated to Shelby County....Look 4 the Rockets to do Big Things Defensively in 2008.......
  5. Acemona, you make some very valid points in regards to the financial situation of the Frankfort Independent School District. With this being said, the brightest moments of the school year will be a Regular Season District Football Title....Post Season District Title...Regional Football Titile...Final Four appearance, and a win over Danville in Title Town. I'm sure that the non revenue sports that you mentioned benefited from the 4 post season games that were played at Sower Field. All Coach Bucket is saying is that the accomplishents of the Football Team at Frankfort this past season did a lot for the Community, and there needs to be changes made so that this level of achievement contiunes. Best of luck to Coach Foley and the program in the upcoming season.
  6. The Dawgs are in need of some Difference Makers to turn it around....They have not posted a winning season since 2001, Mike Farley's first season as Head Coach.....
  7. The 6A crown will always be worn by a resident of Shelbyville Road, Poplar Level Road, and every now and then Preston HWY. All of these schools reside in Jefferson County......
  8. Bull...I am not just throwing barbs to start rumors...Coach N. did in fact apply and interview for the job...and I am actually in agreement with you...there was another interviewee as well, however, I didn't know that name which is why I didn't mention it.
  9. I did not say it was secretive...although that may have been implied as to which I apologize...nothing wrong with exploring options...it's the administrators who place restraints on coaches concerning job security (of which there is none) that a coach exploring other opportunities has the need of being secret...other coaches in this County have been replaced for doing just that.
  10. Coach Jackson must have had quite an interview as he beat out a local applicant...what's up at Crimson Land...Coach Nichols not satisfied...or does he just want out of a very tough district to what he thinks is an easier one? I hope this is not a violation but while applying for another job may be "secretive", the interview is surely not.
  11. Nothing against Coach Jackson..in fact wish him the best of lick...but to the Ballard Administrators...is this hire a better hire and fit then what was already in place...there was never any chance of Coach Redman leaving Male...when you "fire" a coach the next hire should be an upward hire...being as that didn't happen...then Ballard explain to the outgoing man, who gave 11 years of his soul to a program why he was replaced...give this man some closure so he can move on in his career...don't allow egos to interfere with being truthful to a person deserving to know why never having a losing season just wasn't good enough.
  12. Very well put THSRocks......:flame:
  13. High School Defenses had to disign plans to take Macon away, as the Pros do for Randy Moss. I do not know much about his off the field behavior that needs to be modified; however, I do know that he makes plays of Friday Nights. Good luck to the Admirals, and to Mr. Macon.
  14. This is right on it...especially when a coach is told you'll never be replaced or judged on a won/lost record...so then it comes to " we want more emphasis placed on academics..." which is already one of the toughest standards in the state...and now it's the coaches responsibility...hahaha...this just smells bad...anyone who applies beware...and there will be many because it is a high profile position.
  15. Comparable records of Redman and Catlett... Redman 1976 - 85...83 -36 Catlett 1997 - 07 - 81 - 49 Catlett's guilty of not having success vs. the Private Schools...plain and simple...that's why the Ballard Administration has no answer as to why he was let go...simply..."looking to go in another direction..." This is not the same commitment to excellence of the previous administration...expecially since Catlett was told he was not being judged on won /lost records...though not required someone from the administration needs to come clean...and that is the state that ALL coaches in Jefferson County come under...no response required from Administrators.
  16. Relative lack of success??? 1992 - Final Four lost to Boone County...'93 - lost to Trinity Regional Final...'94 - lost Regional Final - St. X...'95 - Lost Regional final - Central..."96 - Lost Regional final - Trinity...and it continued until present ...so if losing in Regional finals is failure then there are a slew of programs that fail every year...what a way to measure success.
  17. What a sad state of affairs when a coach can be replaced with no reason given except that "we want to make a change." They won't find a better man, who did it the right way and didn't cut corners, than Catlett...Can't say W/L record as his worse record was this yar at 6-6...so never a losing season...IMO he didn't beat the privates and it cost him his job...shame on the Ballard Administration...shame for using the football coach when in reality the plan is to turn the Ballard practice field into a soccer complex...Catlett was in the way.
  18. TRIMBLE has Coaches and Players....FRANKFORT has Generals and Soldiers.....Believe me there is a Difference!!! As 4 the young man getting over 200 yds, this will only happen if he is given 199 caries.....Trimble does not have enough LEGS 4 the Panthers...End of Discussion.......
  19. TJ Pryor of Ballard can hold his own with any QB in the state.
  20. The Frankfort starters played less than a half...it was 49-0 after the 1st qtr and 70-0 at the half...Frankfort did not wear practice uniforms...Bracken was just out manned.
  21. add TJ Pryor QB at Ballard...he has the stats...and plays a difficult schedule...and a nice supporting cast of returnees...and his coach will definitely throw the ball.
  22. I would venture to say that all those former Bruins are probably disgruntled players who didn't achieve what they wanted out of the program, and probably were part of any problem the Bruins my have had while they were there. On the other hand...Mark does do an outstanding job with those kids...he is honest and forthright about what a young student-athlete ought to be about...he has also been very consistent wherever he has been...the worst he has done is 6-5(twice)...otherwise he averages 7 to 8 wins a season...most coaches would welcome those numbers...outside Trinity, St. X, and Male...and where do some of you get the idea that Ballard is "loaded" with football talent in the school...I can attest to the fact that is just not true...for example, last season outside the Freshmen he had 6 Varsity linemen...and you might not necessairly agree with him playing Trinity JV/Frosh...a lot of it has nothing to do with Catlett, but administrators...he has no say so as to the schedule...and why throw young kids who is some cases have never played before into a situation where they are outnumbered 10 - 12 to 1 in just sheer numbers...convince me that those young men would get better against those kind of odds....
  23. The best of the best 1. EJ Fields - Frankfort...tremendous athlete with great feet...needs to work on passing game...but that will come...just a great upside to this kid...very dangerous in open field. 2. TJ Pryor...Ballard...big time arm who can also beat you with his feet...though not as fast as Fields...3 sport athlete...Basketball and track as well...plays in a passing offense...throws very well outside the pocket... 3. Matthews...Shelby County...excellent arm strength who is limited by type of offense(wing-t)...pocket passer...given time will give a defense fits... The big thing is that all three are just great humble kids.
  24. Returning QB @ Ballard is TJ Pryor - #10 and the is Sir Weakley - #28. They both had impressive numbers during their JR. year...Ballard's out of district schedule is indeed tough...St.X, Male, Manual, PRP, Butler, Fern Creek, and a Lex. team...I think they will do better than some think in the opener vs. ST.X:D
