I have driven by Ballard almost everyday for the last 14 years or so....in the last couple of weeks I have seen something that I am confident has not gone on there, if not ever, in sometime....I saw a group of about 15 kids, going through their own 7 on 7 drills...and busting hump...I have stopped by to watch...you can tell the guy running QB is the leader...there was no coaching presence....man if Ballard really gets this kind of leadership...that school is riddled with top notch talent...they could be scary again, very soon. Kudos to the Bruins for doing extra.

I too go by there a lot. However I am 100% sure they did this last year, as I went by and watched several times. Regardless of when they started, they are doing the things that will make them competetive again with X and T.

 

A side note, they are better than people give them credit.

I don't see how bashing another high school's coach is very respectful. I for one think Coach Mark Catlett has done a good job developing young men and preparing them for life, both at Ballard and Fairdale.

Ditto, Catlett is a VERY good guy that does a lot for his kids and the Louisville football community. Some fans will never be satisfied.

I don't know Catlett but I do know Beatty. Why does everyone think the Trinity job is so easy?:confused: "Be careful to criticize someone until you have walked in their shoes" exactly! Trinity wins State Championships because they outwork everyone else. I am glad to hear Ballard is working out also. Your comment about getting kids from everywhere left out 1 important part. Kids whose parents are willing to make the sacrifice to pay $9,000 a year for tuition. In case you did not know, Trinity is not free no matter how good an athlete you are.

Mark does an outstanding job both on and off the field, Ballard be patient you always play T and just about everyone loses to T. Mark is an class act and a great coach good luck to him and his team.

As long as Catlett continues his completely childish and cowardly practice of refusing to play Trinity's JV and Freshmen teams I will continue to criticize him. Great lesson he's teaching his kids there, I don't like the way Trinity does things so we'll stop playing their young teams.
