Talent in Basketball and Baseball, but something is missing from the football team. Can't really say it's Catlett, but All Tell does make a good point about not playing certain teams.

Coach Roberts was a good guy and was very competitive with Trinity. They lost to the 90 Rocks 8-7, when a muffed extra point snap by Trinity was turned into a two point conversion.

No need for a debate on something that happened 15 years ago. Most folks had no clue as to what really happened and how the call was made (official). In any event, Lets hope Ballard has a very good year in 2007.

I agree. Ballard historically has had a lot of individual football talent, e.g., Jeremi Johnson and Ron Bethel (played DB for the Hoosiers). It also has a history of producing championship-caliber teams in other sports. IMO Ballard has not in football consistently achieved an adequate toughness quotient..... for the team as a whole not for certain individual players.

No....Joe Babey was tackled inside the 5 yard line...not inside the goal line...with that there is still no telling if we wouldn't have won the game.

You're right. It was 91. As far as the two point conversion, I have it on tape from two TV stations. On one it looks like it was good. On the other it is inconclusive. What is not in doubt is that the official was in perfect position to see the play and make the call. Maybe we could have a BGP Trinity tape film festival.

That would be a lot of fun. Highlights from all of the great games the last 30 years.... I would enjoy seeing the state championship game inwhich one team was running out the clock, electing to take a saftey to end the game... The punter, after running in the endzone, throws the ball up in the air ( having heard a whistle) .... and the defense recovers the ball or an apparent touchdown. This happened several years ago. Cant remember the teams. What a contoversial way to end a state championship game.....

I don't know Catlett but I do know Beatty. Why does everyone think the Trinity job is so easy?:confused: "Be careful to criticize someone until you have walked in their shoes" exactly! Trinity wins State Championships because they outwork everyone else. I am glad to hear Ballard is working out also. Your comment about getting kids from everywhere left out 1 important part. Kids whose parents are willing to make the sacrifice to pay $9,000 a year for tuition. In case you did not know, Trinity is not free no matter how good an athlete you are.

 

We are not that Naive- scholarships are available- what coach at Trinity has not won a State championship- Kevin Wright would have won a bunch - if he would have stayed there so?? Catlett probably won't play you because some of the players he was supposed to get have gone to Trinity on scholarship , along with players from Shelby, Oldham, Frankfort, Henry, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Providence, Bullitt and many others. I have been at several schools and Trinity wants you to think they out work you... this is a myth all the good teams work equally hard. it all comes down to numbers! Play in a private/ separate championship like the coaches voted for and this is not even a discussion. Public schools draw from a neigborhood or county --not a region or several states like Trinity, X, Cross, Lex Cath- etc- lump them into a separate private class and let them fight it out.
