Word on the street is that Mike Jackson is taking the head coaching job at Ballard. I would assume this is the Mike Jackson from Pikeville who just stepped down, but wasn't there a Mike Jackson at Oldham County as well??

Thanks Gus, say hi to Cap'n Call when you can. I figured it was but I could not put the years together to see if it was the same guy. Good coach and he should do well at Ballard.

Uusual recycling hire after Male's administration worked out things with their head man to his satisfaction. I wish the best for Coach Jackson. He has his work cut out for him. He needs similar contacts that Coach Renner has in basketball to be competitive.

Nothing against Coach Jackson..in fact wish him the best of lick...but to the Ballard Administrators...is this hire a better hire and fit then what was already in place...there was never any chance of Coach Redman leaving Male...when you "fire" a coach the next hire should be an upward hire...being as that didn't happen...then Ballard explain to the outgoing man, who gave 11 years of his soul to a program why he was replaced...give this man some closure so he can move on in his career...don't allow egos to interfere with being truthful to a person deserving to know why never having a losing season just wasn't good enough.

They can't and they won't because how do you tell aCoach like Mark Catlett the truth. He did things the right way.

 

The Ballard Admin.would have to say:

 

"Mark we messed up, We thought we could get Redman. Then when we couldn't get him we were stuck with having to hire someone else." We hired Coach Jackson because we thought he could continue to do what you did for us. Please forgive us coach. We learned our lesson Next time we will make sure we get redman under contract before we fire Coach Jackson." Hey good luck, I hope you don't get a job with a school that is on our schedule. If so you will whip our behind."
