Cody Rosenhagen (75) was limping a little coming out of the locker room at half but I didn't see tape, braces or crutches so it was probably just that he was a bit worn out from kicking off so much. I told some of his relatives right before half that it isn't fair having a fast thousand pound kicker blowing up everyone in front him. I am sure his team mates pay attention to where he is on kick offs so he doesn't bulldoze them.

BTW...The guys played great. Scott's team speed is FAR superior to CovCath, at every position. I am suprised they didn't take the Colonels down

I was going to say it...but you took care of it for me. I was at the fence right behind the Ref that did not call the TACKLE in the back. Maybe he was in disbelief that a player would do that 10 feet from an ALLEGED ref. The last face mask call was also right in front of the ref. The Highlands kid barely touch the TOP of the kids helmet, nowhere near the face mask. I hate complaining about officiating (especially in a win) but when it is that blatantly bad, it is hard not to say something.

Two teams are hardly a list. IMO he used Beechwood and Highlands is because he is probably from NoKY, and is familiar with those teams. Obviously, other teams fit into the same situation.

I have never heard that expression before, but I think you hit it on the head. There is a chance that my oldest was the first, fourth generation grad from Highlands when he graduated in 2000. My grandfather (1917) was a "water boy" for the football team. My dad (1952) played baseball, basketball and in the band. I was asked to leave/graduated in 72. I only played football my freshman year and was lucky to live long enough (I was tall, but on the light side. 6 ' 6" 165 lbs when I graduated) to play baseball as a senior. I was one that did not understand or grasp the quality of the education I received until I got into college. After that, I couldn't imagine sending my kids to school anywhere else. Ft T is a great town...walking to the games, road tripping, having a cold beverage at Warner's now after the games and seeing the generations that DO appreciate what they have, both in education and athletics. I guess that is a lot of words (I guess I caught a little case of LN) to say YES!:thumb:

I am not sure that calling off the dogs will help much because the Elder 2's and 3's are better than most teams's 1's. I think that the clock will basically run most of the time because if the Panthers are able to run successfully (why wouldn't they be?) they will throw it very little which means minimal stoppages for incompletions. This will also tend to keep the scoring down a little. It would be great if the Colonels could sneak up on the evil :devil: Ohioans...but I am afraid the only way that happens is if the game starts after dark and the lights are turned out.

The Birds finish district play this week at 7:00 in Taylor Mill. Considering, CovCath took Scott down 49 - 12...there seems to be a chance, that this one could get ugly fast.

Crawford 137 yards rushing...Birds had 427 total offense on 51 plays to Hopkinsville 290, only 54 yards rushing on 26 trys.

Hop-town speed is impressive. They have some very good athletes. Their TD woke up the Birds D. They have bent but not broken since.

I too had a chance to see the Hop-town O-boro game last night thanks to a, there is no such thing as a former Marine, who shall remain nameless. Hopkinsville looked quite capable of giving the Birds all they want. They field/stadium looks first class. I just wish someone would pony up a few bucks to buy the camera man a tripod, and maybe focus the camera too. I wished I had taken some Dramamine :creepy: before watching.

CovCath looked plenty talented but had NO (maybe less than no) answer for Highlands speed. There were eight Birds in on almost every tackle (usually in the backfield) with three more very close by. On offense, the backs and receivers were by the Colonels before they could take a step.
