Highlands retro question

Featured Replies

In the 1989 season, Paducah Tilghman beat Highlands 25-24 in the second game of the season. Does anybody know where this game was played? Highlands beat Tilghman 7-3 in the state title game later that year.

In 1992, Highlands beat Tilghman 25-19 in the season opener. Where was this played?

In 1994, Highlands opened with a 26-6 win over Tilghman. Same question. Where was this played?

The 89 meetings was played at Henderson County in their season-opening bowl game. I think the same goes for 92.

The 94 game, as I recall, was part of Tates Creek's bowl game.

Yeah. I've been there and it is an awesome site for info. But it doesnt tell where the games were played. It IS where I got my info in the first post.

The 89 game was the second game of the season in the Hall of Fame Bowl.

They opened with a 51-8 victory over Jessamine County in the Thoroughbred Bowl.

Highlands played the Jerry Reese led Christian Cty. team in the 1982 Recreation Bowl in Mt.Sterling.

Highlands finished as the first ever 15-0 team in state History & AAA State Champs.

Christian Cty went 14-1 and were the AAAA State Champs. That was a very loaded team.

In 1992 we beat Tilghman at Tates Creek in the Thoroughbred Bowl, then beat them again at state where Billy Jack Haskins set a record for the longest punt in state game history of 81 yards. He was pretty amazing. The wind and bitter cold were possibly a factor. It was rough for us "clappers" on the sideline.

Haskins was impressive. I remember him being all over the field in the finals loss, probably that same year. He was one of those guys who was just a pleasure to watch, no matter which team you pulled for.
