  2. Not sure why??? Both were part of the 9th and 33rd district back in the day. That was a 7 team district at one point.
  3. Brennan came into the game averaging 14.1. Dropped 32 with 17 of that in the third quarter alone. He is a special player. The Roy will be very interesting in March. If Hale makes the gimme's that were missed and the Wildcats make the return trip to Richmond. Congrats to the Bearcats and their new HOFamer Coach Brannen.
  4. The Lady Wildcats move to 7-1 on the season with a 56-44 win over Austin East out of Knoxville in their first round game of the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic in Gatlinburg. Kaylee Terrell paced the LadyCats with 20 points going 8-9 from the free throw line in the effort. Stephanie Roberts also hit double digits with 12 points on the day. Bailey Wainscott pulled down 10 boards in the contest. They will next face 6-1 Pikeville who won their first round matchup against Woodford County 37-27.
  5. Wildcats won 79-62 over Franklin Classical in their first round game in the Green Bracket of the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic in Gatlinburg to go 8-1 on the year. Cats shot 52 percent from the floor, but have some work to do from the stripe just hitting on 5-19. Justin Rassman led the Wildcats with 18 points with 2 behind the arc. Jaymee Hale was 1 rebound from a double-double with 16 points and 9 boards. Overall 11 Wildcats got in the scorebook in their first round game. They take on Harvest Prep today at 1pm. Harvest Prep won their first round game against Barbourville 100-59
  6. I received this from Coach Paige Bosse at Simon Kenton this morning about the 2018 Hoops for Harvest Showcase on 12/2 at Dixie. Great mix of teams locally and from out of state coming in. Hoops for Harvest is a girls basketball showcase event that benefits the Athletes United Foundation, a Kentucky based non-profit organization that benefits families in need. The event pairs local teams against top teams from across the region. This year’s event features local teams from Boone, Kenton and Campbell County including: Dixie, Scott, Simon Kenton, Ryle, Conner, Highlands and Campbell County. We have also secured other top teams from Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and even a top 10 team in the country from Chicago, Illinois. The event was a huge success last year and this year is set to have an even stronger line-up of local teams as well as top regional teams. There are 18 teams and 10 games. 9:00 a.m. Goshen (Cincinnati, OH) vs. Scott High School (KY) 10:20 a.m. West Clermont (Cincinnati, OH) vs. Simon Kenton (KY) 11:40 p.m. Glen Oak (Canton, OH) vs. Ryle High School (KY) 1:00 p.m. Heritage Christian (Indianapolis) vs. Montini Catholic (Chicago) 2:20 p.m. Northwestern (Indianapolis) vs. Ft. 9. Chris Scott will be taking over as the head coach of the Lady Panther Fast Pitch Softball Team. Coach Scott was on the boys’ basketball coaching staff last season and will continue to serve as the JV Boys basketball coach. He has an excitement that exuberates from him and we believe the girls will feed off of this.
  10. Matt Taske from Cincinnati, OH has accepted this position. Most recently he coached at Mount St. Joe’s where he served as the pitching coach. Prior to his stint at the Mount, Coach Taske was an assistant coach at Oak Hills in Cincinnati, Ohio. Coach Taske looks to develop a young team and create a winning atmosphere at Lemker Field in Ludlow, KY this spring.
  11. Dale was our inspiration when we started broadcasting. I can remember him coming to the old gym at St. Henry a couple of times while I was there. I reached out to him to get some ideas on how to do things in the beginning. He was always helpful and willing to give advice. Players my age really thought it was a big deal when Dale and Hardy game to your gym. I will remember most, sitting at home listening to him call Simon Kenton's State Championship in 1981. I can remember it like it was yesterday. Northern Kentucky lost a gem on Sunday. RIP my friend.

  13. Sounds like Mustang needs to come out of retirement.
  14. I spoke to him at the 8th Region tourney this past year. He is looking for a boys job. Hopefully, he gets one still in the 8th. One of the best guys and a good friend.
  15. Have not heard anything except the position is wide open.
  16. The position went to Amy Wesselman. Amy has been the JV coach under Coach Osborne for some time. Congrats to Coach Wesselman
