  1. From what I saw, Coach Nethery is out. No longer Coach, AD or asst. principal. I have no details on what happened though.
  2. Would be in the best interest for the Convention & Visitors Bureau to do it. so they would know where to start.
  3. I know that the Bluegrass/Buckeye does run radio spots when it's time for that. The caviet (sp?) for that is that as long as CovCath is in it, They will get a reduced radio rate with Joe Frederick coaching there and running sales at IHeartMedia. Need to do something along those lines.
  4. Someone from the Convention and Visitors Bureau needs to do an economic impact study from this past years tournament and see how much cash was infused from the traveling teams and build from there. I know the title sponsorship from St. Elizabeth will be there as our CEO said as long as the tournament is in NKY, that we will sponsor it. Gotta think C&VB would be reaching out to each team around region time and promoting what the area has.
  5. I've known Dave from his time as the Freshman Coach at Brossart in 79-80. A time that we talk about on occasion. From that to being a mentor to me in getting Tri State Internet Sports up and running for 10 years. I'm glad to be able to call him a friend. Congrats on your honor. Long time overdue. He is the Dean of Internet Broadcasting. Congrats again Dave.
  6. I was at the Press Conference when they announced St. Elizabeth as the title sponsor. I was introduced to some folks from the NKY Chamber who I believe were supposed to be promoting this. Although they MAY have had a hand in talking to the hotels to get the rooms for the schools, I have to agree, there was nothing that I saw or heard to promote the event. Local radio doesn't touch High School Sports unless it's Penn Stations Athlete of the month and then only because they "sponsor" it. No local stations carried 1 game of the tournament, other than my friends at WIKI in Carrollton that took the KHSAA feed of the Campbell/Trimble game. I enjoyed and liked what I saw at the arena. It was run like I wish the 9th Region tournament would be. From the folks at the Arena, Matt, Molly, Lynn, Bill & Stephen. Great job as always. They are great to work with. the folks from the KHSAA, Joe, Marilyn and their staff provided a great place to cover our local kids. It's my hope that the tournament stays here in NKY, but there is definitely more that needs to be done to promote it if it is to stay here.
  7. Cincinnati should be in this mix. With only 4 wins against the big tournament teams, the committee should be embarrassed they gave them a 9 seed.
  8. Newport is open. Saw it on twitter and now the KHSAA site.
  9. They were down by 1 in the 1st half. Big flurry in second??
  10. Said it last night myself. Even if it was just 1 row, which is all that is needed. There would be enough room for EVERYONE. REALLY NEED TO LOOK AT THIS.
  11. Closest actual radio broadcast is our friends at WIKI in Carrollton and I believe they are only doing the Trimble County game tonight and if they move past the Lady Camels.
  12. You would have thought that he was Pete Rose on the floor Monday night. Got more handshakes than Donald Trump!!!
  13. The South Oldham/Anderson County game at Henry County will be off the hook. The Roy seats 5200 and it will be packed without question. Older gym with some refinements over the past couple of years. Best atmosphere around and great folks there. That's my advise.
  14. TriStateInternetSpts on Twitter: "Here is the last few seconds of the 9th Region Finals. Again, congrats to @NewCathHoops on the win. https://t.co/w8yD2mi1VY" Here is the video of the last few seconds of the game.
  15. What a great night of basketball. As I tweeted last night, it's nights like this is why we covered the 8th Region. South did a great job of double and at times triple teaming Carson, while keeping Toftness and McDonald from scoring too much from the outside. Solid game plan and worked it well. Chad picking up his 3rd foul in the first half was a blow. All that being said, you can take absolutely nothing away from the Rebels. 5peat 31st district champs, Back to Back 8th Region All "A" Champs, A Mr. Basketball Candidate, Record Crowds in Owenton and creating a buzz that the Region had not seen in some time. I know that there were folks from all over the State and beyond that came last night just to see Carson. That has been happening all year. Some around me said he could be on the floor for NKU right now and fit in nicely. This is a special group of kids, and unfortunately their high school ride ended last night. It is a shame that one team had to lose. Such intensity and it was all left out on the floor. That's why I came down last night.......and so glad I did. We wish all of the Rebels the best as they move forward in the next phase of their lives. Thank you for sharing these moments with us. They are ones that will not be forgotten any time soon.
