Received this from Ludlow's AD Andrew Wise: Ludlow High School has hired Greg Taphouse as its Varsity Football Head Coach. Coach Taphouse has been on staff with the Panthers for the past 3 years, where the last two he spend as the Defensive Coordinator. Coach Taphouse brings a wealth of football knowledge with him gained from playing defensive back for the Eagles of Morehead State University from 2006-2010. He was named the 2008 PFL Defensive Back of the Year. After graduating from Morehead in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Taphouse returned to his hometown of Dacula, Georgia to coach his alma mater for one year. He then relocated to Northern Kentucky with his then fiancé (now wife), Amie Taphouse, and began working as a 21st Century Grant Coordinator at Ludlow High School. For the past four years, he has served in that role in addition to coaching football, basketball, and softball at LHS. Ludlow High School is excited to formally announce Coach Greg Taphouse as the Panthers’ Head Coach.

He is, but has not been in the best health.

The problem with actual "Radio" broadcasts is it's all about the cash. I looked into broadcasting the 9th region finals a few years ago and for just the 1 game, it was going to be $1,000.00. Local radio doesn't care about high school games. Internet is the best way.

We did games for the 8th & 9th Region up until 2 years ago with Tri State Internet Sports Radio. There is a possibility that we will be returning next year to do games. We would do audio only. Dave Schabel and his crew have been broadcasting for Bishop Brossart since before us. He would know how long. "Colonel" Mike Montgomery has been doing 8th Region games for many years as well. He broadcasts the entire 8th region tournament like we did the 9th. Terry & Mark do a great job with Holy Cross & Cov Cath. I heard that Walton-Verona started to broadcast football last year, but don't know who is calling the games.

They can have Watkins or Cornbread. Their choice. -

Names are ok. -
I'm sure that there are officials that need to retire in all regions. Saw a perfect example last night at Williamstown. David Watkins needs to go. His five count is about a 3 count and as I tweeted last night, He is the Ed Hocouli of the 8th Region. Has to have his face time. Who else needs to go.

34th District Championship TIME CHANGE
buttels replied to buttels's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Coach Fromeyer has not heard of any changes yet. They tip off at 7 anyway. -
Saw from Lloyd Memorial that due to the severe weather coming tonight, the Girls Championship will start at 5:30 and the Boys Championship will start at 7pm tonight.

Walton Verona - Williamstown District Finals
buttels replied to 98NCCalum's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
If Williamstown plays like they did against Grant County, it will be a classic barnburner. -
It absolutely was. I have said for a long time that the 8th Region has some of the best fans around. They support their teams at home and on the road. Looked like it was the 3rd quarter that did Grant in. The guys weren't going after lose balls and looked like their energy level was tapped. They scored 10 points in 1 quarter & a half. Williamstown ran them up and down the court. The Demons energy level seemed to never fade. Should be a great game with WV.

This way, all those calling the games will be able to see unobstructed. Loved my seat at state last year. See you there.
