  1. Anyone know if Supplee is still on a bum wheel and didn't play? Saw he sat for a while in the All "A" matchup with Gallatin with an ankle injury.
  2. Newport played hard, we're down by 11 and fought back to tie it in the second half, but Lloyd kicked in an extra gear in the 4th quarter. Both teams ended up with an injury as well. Robert Sanders left St. Henry on crutches with an ankle and Dameion Mitchell also went out with what we thought was an ankle injury.
  3. I get it if you don't want other teams to know how you're doing but geeesh.......:ohbrother:
  4. Tri State Internet Sports Radio will have all 4 games of the quarterfinals this year. All broadcasts can be heard at Tri State Internet Sports Radio is on Mixlr. Mixlr is a simple way....
  5. Was able to see the last minute of the game and talked to Coach Carr afterwards. Things progressing in year 2 at Holmes. Close game, but Holmes pulled away with free throws at the end. Did get to see PP1 in the stands, but did not get to talk to him.
  6. Cooper had Freihofer and Palmer out. Ludlow really pressed and switched up their press in the 2nd half, holding Cooper to 14-15 second half points. Lind had a nice game for Cooper with 14, 10 of which came in the 1st quarter. Jenna Lillard led all scorers with 21 for Ludlow with Abby Mahan adding 20. Here is a link to the broadcast: 2019-20 Girls Basketball - Ludlow vs. Cooper by Tri State Internet...
  7. Beechwood exploded in the second half. Draud had 17 in each half for his 34. Downton with 3 slams. Profitt and Huelsman had good games for Scott but the Tiger's size took it out of the Eagles. Lots of turnovers and breakaway points for Beechwood. Thought they would break the 100 mark. BTW, thanks much to Statman for his help last night. Provided stats for halftime and game end. Appreciate it much!! Glad they got you a table.
  8. I saw a post from Anderson County Coach Clay Birdwhistell that former Owen County Head Coach Bob Osborne has passed away on Saturday. Coach Osborne had had some medical issues over the past few years and succumb to those over the weekend. A recent member of the 8th Region Hall of Fame and Owen County Hall of Fame, Coach Osborne has touched so many players, coaches, families and friends. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.
  9. Both teams had at least 10 players returning for both squads.
  10. I spoke to the coaches after the game and Jaden will be fine, getting checked out though. Coach Stowers said in his pregame interview that Simon was going to do what they do. Swarming defense by the Lady Pioneers kept Ryle on their heels to a 27 point win. Both teams returned at least 10 returning players from their State Title and 8th Region runner-up squads. Maddie Scherr was out for Ryle after an injury in the Campbell game. Our stats are unofficial, but 3 Lady Pioneers in double digits with Serenity Webb and Morgan Stamper each with 12, Mattie Vickers had 10. For Ryle, Abby Holtman led the Lady Raiders with 9, Brie Crittenden added 7. We had Ryle going 7/19 from the FT line and only 1 3 point shot made. The Lady Raiders only hit double digit scoring in the second quarter with 10 points.
  11. She was always good with us. I was so pleasantly surprised to see her at Walton when we were doing football. Always willing to help us with whatever we needed. She will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the schools, family and staff that she touched.
  12. Ross got NCC off to a great start with his 11 points in the first quarter. 3/5 from the line, which Coach Dawn said after the game will be a point of emphasis in practice, as the Breds went 8/15 from the line. The score would have been a bigger difference if Hunter and Howard made their 2 foot bunnys for sure. Overall, a good first game for NCC. Walton is small this year, but don't let the lack of size fool you. They are quick and were diving after every loose ball, very scrappy. The second half was pretty even up with NCC - 33 NCC, 32 Walton. With only one returning player from last year, Watson, The chemistry set is still being mixed, but I feel this group will gel after a while. Pretty clean game, Walton only got to the line for 3 FT's.
  13. Here is the link to his obit. Stanley Steidel Obituary - Cincinnati, OH | Kentucky Enquirer
  14. Where to start here. High school sports in NKY would not be the same without Stan and what he has done. I remember playing in I believe the 3rd All "A" at Ludlow with a recently expanded 16 team format. To take that tournament and expand it to both boys and girls, most sports, art competition, academics, cheerleading and giving scholarships, really requires more than a tip of the hat. Stan was instrumental in taking the 9th region basketball tournaments and evening the playing field with other regions by moving the tournament to BB&T Arena at NKU. Although you lose the feel of a packed gym with everything on the line, Stan wanted to give our players the ability to play on a college floor to prepare for the state tournament. Speaking about the state tournament, NKU hosting the Girls Sweet 16 for 3 years does not happen without him as well. A great coach, AD and friend to all of NKY and all of the small schools throughout the Commonwealth. So many kids have benefited directly or indirectly by his accomplishments and work. If you look at my avatar, I don't sit there at BB&T without Stan Steidel. Rest in peace Stan.
  15. Can anyone post brackets from your prospective regions?
  16. Here are the details on the floor pieces. Three sizes. all are 9 inches wide 9 1/2 inches ($15.00) 13 inches ($20.00) 24 inches ($25.00 The 24 inch pieces may end up at 23 depending on where the nails were installed upon installation. Colors have been a question for some folks. They will do their best to give you what you want. They can do solid red, alternating, or solid red in the middle with white on the out, or opposite that. Contact Andrew Shearer (andrew.shearer@henry.kyschools.us) for more details and for ordering I've ordered mine.
  17. The gym was and is not suitable for indoor track. the pic is a bit mis-leading. Gym is huge, but upper levels have a very thin aisle to get to upper seating and once the bleachers are back in, even retracted, those corners are too sharp for any indoor track. They have posted a newer one with the new painted floor, I'll get that one posted later on.
  18. Saw this on Twitter this morning. Brand new floor going in at Henry County. I asked Coach Welch what the plans were for the old floor. They are working on the possibility of selling off pieces of the old floor like New Cath did. Lot of great players working toward a 31st and 8th region title on that floor. I'll post updates as I get them. Going to be very nice when done. Floor is huge with the side bleachers gone.
