I know things are cyclical, and Gallatin has been on top for at least the last two seasons, and apparently this one also. I doubt that they have cornered the market on success, I see evidence of it in other programs and I have no doubt they will have there turn at the top. Right now though, this old rooster is gonna crow about his team. Next year I expect to eat some buzzard gizzards more often than not. Every country boy knows you make hay while the sun is shining.

Why would SK overlook anyone? Gallatin should proove to be a good game for the Pioneers. Gallatin is among the top 5 teams in the 8th, and so is SK. I'm looking for this to be a hard fought game, by both sides. See you there.

I will take GC in a close game. GC 59 - 55. This week Gallatin will find out how far they have come as a team... They play Trimble County Tuesday, Simon Kenton on Friday, and Anderson County at Anderson on Saturday. This week will give coach Jones and company a better feel for where they are at, and should expose the things they will need to work on to be ready for January and March. Go Cats!

Perhaps the wrong choice of words on my part to say that they are head and shoulders above the other small schools around. My apologies if I offended, it was not my intent to do that. I went back and looked at the last two complete seasons for Gallatin, they went 12-2 last season against the small schools (WV, HC, TC, OC, CC). The season before that, 2005-06, they were 11-2 against those same schools.

I agree with what you are saying here. However, no matter how bad you beat the small schools, there are always gonna be detractors to your program. Some will say that Gallatin can't play with the big schools, like Scott County, Oldham, and the Shelby's out there. All I know is that I have been watching these kids at Gallatin play ball for a long, long time now. All they do is win... not all of them, but most of them. SteelCurtain- get your boys fired up, teach them to play aggressive, teach them to never - never back down. Oh wait... :sssh:your program has already done that! No wonder Gallatin is head and shoulders above the other small schools around here. Congratulations on building a great program, even if you are a small school.

In the game last night, GC started 3 seniors, a junior, and a sophomore.

I see where your favorite team has stepped up there schedule also. Hopefully when the Panthers play a school with enrollment 3-4 times larger than there own, they will play better than they have currently shown. Gallatin has stepped it up in the schedule area, playing many schools that are larger and better than them this year. We will not win them all. We will win some of them though.

I dont disagree with the comments about Gallatin's Defense was the deciding factor in the game. But they had a double digit lead in the first half, about 13 points at one point before the fouls started coming in fast and furious, actually on both sides. Definitely the 'D' was the difference.

IMO the reason the game was close at the half had more to do with the referees than the players on either side. Foul trouble for both sides really ruined what was otherwise a pretty good game. Can't wait until the rematch in Carrollton. Nice win for the Wildcats! Way to go.

Probably not. But then again, neither are the Panthers:p If I am wrong on this, I will have to eat a little buzzard gizzards(dont care for the tast of crow meat), but then again fry em right and gizzards is very tasty! All jokes aside, I think Carroll will likely have a good season, I just don't think these kids will beat Gallatin this year.

Gallatin is beatable, but not by Carroll County this season... unless those same 3 referees that drew the GC/Henry game show up. If that crew is there, who knows what will happen. :irked:

Futunately he is. He missed a game but is ok now. You know how rumors are. Gallatin looked good tonight! Henson scored his points in the first half then rolled his ankle and sat out the rest of the game, but He will be fine. If Gallatin stays healthy they will be hard to beat in the All A.

Did CC have a bad night? When Gallatin played Henry last Friday, I thought Henry was not as good as I remember them being from last season. To beat CC like this does not bode well for CC later this week... Nice win for Henry County, congratulations!

Gallatin just dominated in the paint tonight, seemingly scoring at will. Early on they shot a few from the outside, but after they found out they could exploit the middle, it was pound it in big time. Gallatin's bigs out played Owen's bigs on both ends tonight. IMO, Gallatin's experience was a huge factor in this game. Great win Wildcats!!:jump:

Gallatin has a tough big man themselves. Actually they have 2. And if Davis comes around it will be 3. GC-78 OC-61

Nice post! I have seen only Gallatin and Henry play thus far, I can't say much about the other teams. I think Gallatin is still getting the rust off their game from football and still has not played ball at the level they are capable. Henry seemed down this year when we played them last week. I don't think Henry has much compared to last year's squad. I do think the Owen and Gallatin game will be the game of the week of those mentioned here in this thread. Should be fun....

Gallatin showed their versatility as a team tonight. Previous games, the play inside the paint got them going but tonight it was the perimeter game. Bombs away from behind the arc and several nice 15 footers. Once Gallatin put on the press, it was over. Nice win for Gallatin, each time out they are getting a little better.

Prayers and nothing but the love and hope for the family of the young boy. I will add him the prayer lists at our church this Sunday.

I had heard during the summer that the Lample boy came back to Ryle after playing at Cov Cath? Is he playing for the Raiders or is it just another of those rumors? I have not seen/heard anything about him in either schools threads, so I was wondering if he is eligible to play for Ryle.

Wtown was red hot in the first half from the floor, even beyond the arc. However Gallatin stepped up the 'D' in the second half. I was caught off guard by how well Wtown played - wasn't expecting that from them. Congrats to the Wildcats on a nice win! Also hats off to Wtown on playing a tough game... I think they will surprize a few teams here in the 8th with how they play. Good luck to both teams going forward.
