Yes I agree and have told coach Jones that very thing. By letting his team compete against Scott Co, Holmes and the like they are definitely learning what it takes to play at a higher level than your usual small school plays.

Don't be counting out Gallatin just yet! I can guarantee that Coach Drury ain't very excited to be playing Gallatin in the 1st round neither! Go Wildcats!

I like the 1st draw of Gallatin County. You are gonna have to play them sometime in order to win the region. Might as well play them 1st when you have more time to prepare for it. Go Wildcats:thumb:

IMO - Gallatin County will win the 31st District for a third straight year. Go Cats!

Hey Mack, where are the boys from Gallatin at in the power rankings after the loss to Grant County?

I have started to keep my son's stats when I can remember to bring something in to write them down with. I don't share them with anyone, don't bring them up to the coaches and really don't care what people think about me doing it. Just something I like to do and it is fun to look back from time to time to see what he has done. Just wondering.... have you ever been to a professional baseball game and taken notice of all the folks there keeping the books on the game? I think it is cool, especially when folks get into something and care enough to follow it with that passion.:thumb:

Gallatin breaks out of the shooting slump they have been in lately and has a breakout game... Gallatin big in this one... Senior night, home game, huge fan base tonight to see these boys off... way too much for NO to overcome.

You are correct... Jones did get a technical that he deserved. However, Kidman deserved at least one for his antics, by the same referee that stuck ones. However, for some reason he did not get that one... which changed the game IMO. Had he gotten stuck, your passionate coach would have had to finish the game from the seat of his chair, preventing him from running up and down the sideline. Now I know the referee crew are not responisible for 16points, 17 points, or what ever Gallatin got beat by. But not sticking the coach did "change" the game. I still give Grant County players the credit for playing a hard fought game and coming out victorious. Congratulations to the Braves and good luck in your future games. I hope both teams advance far enough in the districts / regionals to face each other again.

Nah, I got it right. I mentioned in my post that he put on quite a show... acted like a 4 year old throwing a tantrum until he got his way. IMO he intimidated the referee's to the point that it definitely changed the game. I sat behind his bench in ear shot of most everything he was saying... I sure hope he doesn't kiss his wife with that mouth.

As a referee, the older I have gotten, the less abuse I take - from anyone associated with the game. Not to say that I come in with a chip on my shoulder because I generally am a even keeled person. However, I have a point in my mind that I determine when it is enough. Once I get to that level in my mind, I react by sticking players with 'tudes, and coaches that act like children and send them to their seats where they can act more responsibly. As for obnoxious fans, I don't adhere to the "I paid my money, I get to participate in the show" philosophy as many here have posted. When they get out of hand, they are gone from the gym. Period.

Getting a little ahead of yourselves aren't you? First off they have to continue to play at the level they did last night, and have the same horrible referee crew as last night. Even though Grant beat Gallatin by 16points, they are not a "better" team, in my humble opinion. Grant played well, and though I am not a follower of their team, I have to think it was maybe the best game they played all year. Parlay that performance with a very poor performance (give Grant credit here) from Gallatin, and you have a er a 16pt win over a team that honestly should have beaten them by 20+.

Conner in 81 had a tough team with Jim Pitzer, Sammy Carr, Scott Thomas (his son Eric now plays at Conner), Mickey Henson and Allan Jones. THis team was well rounded and had good guard play, plus had the bigs to go down low with. There claim to fame was that they were the only team that season, I think the only one, anyway to beat the eventual state champion Simon Kenton Pioneers. I was a sophomore and dressed for that game but never got on the floor. Boy those were the days....:thumb:

Next Closest was the 9 point victory over Gallatin, not 19 over Holy Cross. Gallatin was tied with holmes with just minutes left in the game. Defense, Defense, Defense. You can play the same defensive game against them, but they are much quicker than other teams. I have Boone winning the 9th, so I thought it would be much closer than this.:scared:

Dunlap is a good player out of the 8th region. There are two others that come to mind also from the 8th... CJ Penney from Anderson County, and Trent Maddox from Gallatin County. I think any coach would be delighted to have any one of them on his team in an All-Star type game.

Sounds like many fans are placing blames on others, when the blame should be on the athletes for disrespecting the game, their teammates, their parents, their coach and school administrators, as well as the officials.

Where was the game played?

Whoa! I wasn't saying you should look at the film. It would just be interesting to see the film to see what the refs were seeing since no one can see everything that was happening at the same time. Sounds like the Walton-Williamstown game is quite a rivalry.

Well, I wasn't there just heard from W-town parent and player that the W-town players left their bench after the walton players cleared their bench. Maybe someone should take a look at the film and see what really happened.:fight:

Talked to a parent of a wtown boy... 4 Wtown players got ejected for leaving the bench, and or fighting. From what I hear, even though both benches cleared, only the wtown boys got ejected for leaving the bench.
