Gallatin jumped out to a 14-4 first quarter lead and were never threatened after that.

The lead was 28-12 at the half. Trent Maddox scored 23, David Henson 12, Scott Brown 10, Jared Carlton 8, Henry Davis 5, and Taylor Jones 1.

Gallatin is now 21-6 on the season and will play in Saturday night's championship.

Nice win for Coach Jones and the Cats! Good to see them back to form after that late season hiccup.

I agree MR A. that Owen is hungry but I would almost bet that the well traveling Wildcats will have near as many fans. Good wins for both GC and OC tonight.

Gallatin County wasted no time getting this game under control. Trent Maddox had 6 of the GC Wildcats first 10 points as Gallatin County went on a 8 point run during the first 6:30. Henry County would get one more bucket as would Gallatin County to end the first quarter with Gallatin County up 10, 14-4.

 

Gallatin County switched up to a zone to force Henry County to shoot outside. The HC Wildcats were able to capitalize on one three pointer by Steven Tillit in the quarter, but Gallatin County was big on the offensive glass getting second and third chances on missed shots. Gallatin County pushed the lead to 16 points at the half, 28-12.

 

Henry County came out of halftime on a 5 point run scored by Ben Roberts. Gallatin County answered back as both teams pushed the ball up the floor. Gallatin County maintained their double digit lead as the quarter ended, 39-25.

 

Gallatin County had pushed the lead to 17 points twice in the 4th quarter. Cody Hinkle came alive for Henry County with 7 points. Henry County had to start fouling with 3 minutes to go but it wasn’t enough as Gallatin County goes to the district finals and the 8th region for the 3rd year in a row. The Gallatin County Wildcats win the game by a 59-40 final.

 

Henry County goes to 7-19 with the loss. Gallatin County improves to 21-7 and will face Owen County for the 31st district championship on Saturday Night.
