Mason County/Clark County Updates
fieldhousekrayzie21 replied to bigblueinsanity's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Mason Co is up 28-25 at half. The refs are really letting them play. Very physical game. -
And it has nothing to do with the players or how the team is playing. I am embarassed to be a fan because UK Fans (at least alot of them) are embarassing. It almost takes the fun out of going to Rupp for a game, and I think it has gotten much worse this season as compared to seasons in the past. UK fans yell at Porter, Galloway, Miller and others to shoot during the games, instead of run an offense. They want them to take every halfway-open look that they have. And I am not just talking about a few people, almost the whole arena is yelling, making it loud enough that you would think the shot clock is running low. Our players have TONS of pressure on them already and some of the players that I have named seem to lack confidence in their shot. So why put more pressure on them by yelling when they are doing what the coach says? People yelling at our players makes me really angry. Booing when they walk off the court at Halftime (in the Miss St. Game) in just crazy. Booing and Cussing at Michael Porter and other players (I think Porter takes the brunt of it) is just uncalled for. They are kids and trying to do their best and the coach obviously has them in for a reason. You yelling does nothing but make the players lose confidence in themselves and their ability. It doesn't make things better at all and it sure doesn't change anything. So for all of you fans out there who want to be negative and cause trouble, keep your mouth shut. You should cheer for anyone wearing "KENTUCKY" across their chest, even if they are playing bad or aren't as talented as you think they should be. But I can tell you one thing, they are much better than you are and you have no right to cuss them out or boo them because they missed a shot or turned the ball over. Try having 24,000 people yelling at you while you do your job and see if you are perfect!!!:madman:

10th and 11th Region Officials

WOW! -
I think Barner and Downing may think differently about Mason only having Setty, Middleton, and Pawsat. I would think the GRC players would say the same about their team too. Downing and Barner are both VERY important players for the Royals. To write them off like that, along with the rest of the Royals, is just wrong. They are MUCH more than a three player team.

I've lost 5 since the first weigh in. I am from 245 to 240. -
They both played in the Cov Cath game.

I know of people who have obtained handicap parking passes and received special treatment because they are obese. Is this fair?

But honestly, it has been like that all season, even when the weather hasn't been bad. -

Yes they do, but they do not apply to Showcase or tournament games such as the MCIT. The student section this year is pitiful as well. They don't even deserve to be called Fieldhouse Krayzies. -
They just knocked off the #1 team in the nation....

UK keeps moving up. They are one of four SEC teams projected to be in the tournament and are the highest seeded SEC team. However they have Florida BOLDED which means he thinks they will win the SEC tourny and get the automatic bid.

10th region top 8 updated 1/11

Woulda, Coulda Shoulda. Mason County has rarely been 100% healthy as well, with key players like Keith Downing, Neal Pawsat, and Ryan Hamm all missing time with injuries. If you want to compare scores, all I have to say is Mason Co. 69 at Scott 48 and Clark Co. 64 Scott 53 AT CLARK. -

What has Clark Co. done? It looks like you are giving reasoning for your losses, just like I did. All of our losses are to Top 25 teams too. As for saying all of Mason County's arguments include losses, thats just not true. I think I said before that Mason County won a tournament in Florida, and by doing so, beat a team from Georgia, the Number 1 ranked team in Division 1 North Carolina the United Faith Christian Academy 66-37, and beat Winton Woods from Ohio in the finals. They also beat St. X Ohio too. Those are some really good wins. Not to mention 20 pt wins at Scott and home against Campbell without a starter... Any reasonable, unbiased person can't look at that and say they aren't at least on an even playing field with Clark, if not the favorite. -

What has Clark done to be ranked ahead of Mason County? Mason County won a tournament in Florida, was an elbow to the face and a fainting fan away from beating Scott Co. (who some say is the best team in the state) on their home floor, and would've beat Highlands if they weren't missing two of their Seniors. They also would've beat Franklin Co. if they hadn't shot such an awful free throw percentage (3-16). So basically, they could and maybe even should be undefeated. But things happen and they have lost three games, all to teams who are in or have been in the top 25. Clark got beat on a neutral floor by Scott Co. by like 20 or so, and Mason Co. almost beat them on their home floor without a starter for almost 3/4 of the game. If Clark Co. was the favorite in the preseason, Mason County has definitely closed the gap, and maybe even become the favorite in the 10th. -

I've worked out (both Cardio and Weight lifting) all but 11 of the 14 days to start 2009 and have yet to have a drink of pop this year. Thats huge for me because I used to average at least 4 or 5 pops a day... -
This is very big for an improving defense for UK. HUGE for the Cats.

More like a good first quarter. Pawsat getting hurt really killed their momentum. -

Pretty much won the Campbell Co. Game? Didn't Mason County win that game by like 20? Gilbert is a young player, and I am glad that he hit some big shots, but Mason Co. will not be able to rely on that on a consistent basis. -

Who else?? They have Downing, Setty (Treg), Barner, Pawsat, and Hamm. If you don't know them, trust me, you will when they play. Downing was a starter last year and is one of the best defenders in the state. Setty is tall and has loads of promise. Barner is a double-double machine and can guard players of different sizes. Pawsat is a beast and is quickly becoming a valuable scoring weapon, and Hamm is a great game manager, shooter, and defender. They have MUCH more than just Middleton. -

I'm at 235 right now, but would like to get down to 200 or 205. How often are the weigh ins? When is this over, or when is the target date?
