Frakes' Top 15 Rankings

Featured Replies

Of course, it's early. A lot of teams are still getting their football players back. Some teams have injuries. Keeping all of that mind, I've come up with a statewide top 15 based on the first couple of weeks of the season:

1. Bryan Station (3-0). Gotta be No. 1 with wins over Holmes, Henry Clay, Tates Creek.

2. Holmes (3-1). Last year's state runner-up looking good with win over Scott County.

3. Scott County (2-2). Looking more vulnerable than people thought they would.

4. Jeffersontown (4-0). Schedule picks up after wins over Atherton, CAL, KCD and Whitley County.

5. Elliott County (3-0). Hard to judge because schedule is weak.

6. Lexington Catholic (4-1). Only loss to Carbondale (Ill.).

7. Ballard (3-2). Losses to Scott County and Jeffersonville (Ind.). Might be too high.

8. Hazard (2-1). Finally gets basketball players back.

9. Paul Dunbar (4-0). Nice start with wins over Tates Creek, Lafayette, Doss and Knox Central.

10. Manual (3-1). Jacob Jenkins didn't play in Trinity.

Looks very reasonable.

Looks about right to me. I do think the top 10 will change over the next week or so though considering most teams' schedules pick up and get tougher.

Glad to see Highlands gets some statewide recognition. Not sure how the nky poll can have them at #3 behind Boone when the state recognizes them as #13 and Boone is no where to be found.

I would switch #4 Jeffersontown and #5 Elliott Co. Have #7 Ballard and #15 Shelby Valley trade spots.

11. Madison Central

12. Clark Co.

13. Highlands

14. Mason Co.

The above teams 11-14 maybe overranked as a group they are all tied into one other with common opponents.

I think that that is really pretty close for these teams.

I like this top 10. Station clearly deserve to be #1. I would put Clark County in front of Manual.

^ I agree with both statements

Nice to see NKY teams get some rec. I'm guessing their win over Mason helped.

I don't believe there are 15 teams better than Louisville Eastern. I think they are really going to surprise some people this year.

Not sure I'd have EC in front of J'town. Maybe right now, since they don't have Cosby, but when they get him back, no way EC should be ranked ahead of them. Until EC plays and beats a top 20 team, they are right where they belong at #5.

I agree with on this, I haven't seen them play , but if you look at there opponents and the scores of the games it would be difficult to disagree with your statement.

I saw them last year when they had a very young team. And I also saw them in louisville this summer. I also believe their coaching staff does a very good job.
