Until Jeffersontown beats somebody I would keep them at 3 or 4. I would put Bryan Station in the #1 spot atleast for now and Holmes 2nd. Scott Co or J-Town 3rd.

 

We should get a good read this weekend at the Defenders of the Station Tourney.

 

I think Dunbar is in a good spot.

Very interesting. Can't understand why Bryan Station continues to be below Holmes and Scott County though...how many times is it necessary to beat a team before you get the recognition? (It'd have been one thing if their victory over Holmes had been by one point...but they won by 14)

 

Manual seems to be over-rated at this point, unless this poll is based on potential and what the team is when they're healthy and at their best. Two straight losses to Trinity and unranked Waggener. I know they have injury problems, but I always felt polls should meant to reflect the HERE and NOW. Right now, it's hard to see Manual as the #6 team in the state.

 

Have to think that Moore will show up next week. The Mustangs are 6-0 with victories over Male and PRP to their credit...

 

Two teams to watch: Henderson County and North Oldham. I watched those two put on as impressive a display as I've seen in a while on Saturday in the Ronald McDonald House Classic. North has two losses, by 9 to Henderson (without star PG Alex Foley in the lineup) and by 10 to Ballard on the road after leading late. Henderson is undefeated, but had not beaten anyone of significance prior to the win over North. If both continue to play at that level the rest of the year, the Mustangs and Colonels both will be playing in Rupp...

I agree with this statement. Also, Ballard seems high at 8, same argument. Then I wonder what Fairdale, Christian County, Trinity, and Owensboro have done to make the rankings? Also, I believe Mason, Franklin County, Anderson County, Madison Central and Desales have done more than any of those teams "so far".

I agree with the talent that GRC has they should be higher! They should have dropped a few maybe to 12-13 but the loss to Madison Central was without Stenzel so I don't see how they dropped 6 spots

Where in the world is Knox Central at, too? Corbin is ranked 12th and the Panthers won that game and came back from nine points down in the fourth quarter to win. Their only loss was to ranked Paul Dunbar?

Knox Central lost by 24 to Dunbar. They do have a nice feather in their cap with the win over Corbin, and can go a long way to bolster their resume' over these next 3 games in the Defenders of the Station tourney.

Actually the Holmes/Bryan Station game was closer than the score indicated. Holmes was leading midway through the 4th and BS hit a few shots to go up by 6 and Holmes had to start fouling with every missed shot they took.

 

I'm with Les. Holmes is #1 in the state. They absolutely dominated #1 SC and led by double digits the whole game, until the 4 minute mark when JJ went out for 2 minutes with a cramp, which allowed SC to get within 5.

 

J'town doesn't even have Cosby at this point and haven't played anyone. Holmes will be able to prove a lot this week end at the Defenders of the Station Tournament. They play Tates Creek, Ballard, and Knox Central, and then will likely face Bryan Station in a rematch in the championship, if both teams go undefeated through pool play.

 

BTW, good to see Highlands get some recognition at #17. IMO they're the #2 team in nky.

I can see some EC fans becoming a tad bit irked.

Cats Pause, Lexington Herald and I believe I've seen the LIT ratings.

Cats Pause were pre-season rankings ... and so were the Lexington Herald's unless the Cantrall ratings are out.
