BGP boys rankings

Knox Central lost by 24 to Dunbar. They do have a nice feather in their cap with the win over Corbin, and can go a long way to bolster their resume' over these next 3 games in the Defenders of the Station tourney.

Scott County lost to Holmes, too, who lost to Bryan Station.

That's why rankings are fun to look at and argue about;), but they don't mean a thing.

Whoever the 16 teams are standing in March is all that matters.:thumb:

I can see some EC fans becoming a tad bit irked.

Why? They haven't played anyone and over the past two years have beaten ZERO top 20 teams. You have to beat quality competition to get the recognition. They're a top 5 team for sure but until they knock off some good teams in KY, they won't be ranked any higher than 4 or 5 because of the teams that Holmes, Scott Co, Bryan Station, and J'town play AND BEAT.

Gotta play somebody first. South Charleston will be a test.

I've seen Jeffersontown play, they are not the No. 1 ranked team in the state. Holmes should be. Actually, I believe GRC should be rated a bit higher than what they are, too.

Our rating is Ok with me...as you state below........

They have been without Aaron Cosby. He is their best player. They are going to be a very good team.

I believe Hazard and Lou. Eastern are too low. I believe Eastern is a top 10 team based on what I have seen of them. As for Hazard they just need to get their football guys back and the transfer from PCC eligible (which he will be after Christmas).

Here's a question...say Holmes goes through the Bryan Station tournament this week end and goes undefeated with wins over #4 Bryan Station (only loss keeping Holmes from #1 right now), #8 Ballard, and then they beat both Knox Central and Tates Creek. Would that make them a consesus #1 considering they would have knocked off 2 top 5 (3 of the top 8) teams in a week's span, including preseason #1?

I think some teams have gotten a pass because of players not with the team for various reasons. See Manual for instance.

Yes, most definitely. :thumb:

Elliott Co. at # 5 is a joke and anyone that agrees with these ranking obviously hasn't seen Elliott Co. play. I guess their not going to get any respect until they win the state tournament.

Who have they beaten? Say them aloud and then reconsider. Like I said earlier, beat S.Charleston and you now have a feather in your cap. Until then, line up Boyd Co. again and hang another Benjamin on them. It is what it is. The folks above them have played somebody.

See Spindoc's post.

You really think they should be ranked ahead of Bryan Station who beat #2 Holmes or ahead of #2 Holmes who beat #1 Scott Co???
