The highlighted above does get old. The Cov Cath fans in general are great, but the above chants are ignorant and insulting to the Holmes players and community. I would hope an administrator would step in in the future and put a stop to it. These chants were used at the end of the Regional final at Conner and it comes across as poor sportsmanship and condescending to the Holmes players and fans.

I would bet he wouldn't have played if Mason were facing Lex Cath or Scott Co in the finals.

Credit should go to Coach Henley and his staff and Arrez's leadership of this team for not responding to the cheap stuff at the end. I'm sure the reaction from the Holmes team at the end of the game would have been a lot of different last year.

I would be bitter as well if I was stuck in a district with Holmes and CovCath. HC hasn't seen the region in a long time and the future (next 3-4 years) looks dismal. I only seen Sorrell once against CCH in the district. Very talented offensive player but a sub .500 record speaks for itself. I've never seen a team so focused on one player.

Great late season run by the boys from Scott High and Coach Carr. I don't think anyone out here thought they would go this far this year.

If CovCath continues to make a high percentage of 3's against Holmes it will go down to the wire. I'm sure this will be a great game and go down to the final horn..probably in OT again.

The Holmes/CovCath winner will give them all they want if they match up.

Great game to watch. Much better than the HHS-CCH game. I thought Villa tried to force too much when they had a 8-10 point lead and should have been more patient on offense. The refs really let the boys play in this game which made it fun to watch. Bryan is a great athlete/player for Villa.

Cov cath great team effort. McGraw great player who tries to get everyone involved. Simpson doesn't give it up when he gets it and forced a bunch of shots. Malie had a huge 2nd half on the boards and converted a lot of layups. Highlands had no inside game to speak of. CCH-Holmes tuesday night should be a great one.

Trust me Holmes will not run up the score on anyone. They could have beat Greenup Cty by 70-80 points like Elliot Cty but Coach Henley would never allow that.I am sure they will have fun and would rather play Bellevue than Conner in the first round.

Could Holmes have gotten a better scenario?

He was also fed the ball, not many of the other player shot and that is why Phelps never went anywhere when he played. I was at the game one night and counted the shots he took , that night he took over 80 ( been a long time ) . So IMO if others took that many shots they might score that many also. Why would any coach want to just highlight one player, and forget about winning the game ,could it be the coach was his brother. 80 shots? I would highly doubt that but if you seen it you seen it!!!

Poor kid came over to the Cov Cath side and was going to do the same thing with their boys but was rather harshly pulled away by Cov Cath admin. They should have let the kid do his thing as it was very clever.

I agree with the comment on Ryan Ernst's coverage of Holmes. I feel like they have gotten more coverage than any NKY team in the Enquirer all year. I am a Holmes alum so I have enjoyed it. I miss my daily KY Post but I think the Enquirer and Ryan Ernst have really improved their NKY High School sports coverage this year!
