Keep it clean.

Just for the cleverness and spontaneity, CovCath's "Loop, Swoop, Pull" at the state tournament a few years ago was good. A player from the opposing team lost his shoe, if I remember correctly, and the section took off a show and chanted, "Loop, Swoop, Pull" That may not be completely accurate, but you get the picture.

You are referring of course to James "Fly" Williams who attended Austin Peay in the early 70's. In the Midwest Regional semifinals against Kentucky in 1973 Williams scored 26 points in a 106-100 OT loss.

His 2 year scoring average at Austin Peay was 28.5 ppg. In both his seasons there he led the Governors to the NCAA Tournament.

A few years ago at the state tourny CovCath had a student put on boxing gloves and stand in front of the cheering section. If he swung from the left they all fell to the left and so on with the other punches. I thought it was very humurous.

Absolutely agree. That's the best I've ever seen!

Agree. I love this from the fans. Gallatin did it a few weeks back, without the gloves but still, a classic!

Its amazing how Cov Cath is able to do this with all 200 boys or more participating. We arent even able to get 50 or so kids to do the same cheer so this was awesome when I seen it done by Cov Cath at Mason Co. this year.

Mike Williams (51 points) from Kentucky Weselyan lit up Fly Williams and AP in a Christmas tourney in Owensboro in about '73 and Fly Williams said to a reporter after the game that Mike Williams "aint nothing but a shooter and he can't play defense"

When I was a senior there was a junior named Lucas Hail. During the game the student section would start a Let's Raise Hail! chant as they picked Lucas up and crowd surfed him up and down the stands. Of course it then went to We're Raising Hail! and Hail's been raised! Our principal didn't like it much but as long as Hail was picked up there's not much he could say.

Webster County teams are called the "trojans" so you can just use your imagination on some of those cheers...

A few years ago we got a "lets play football" the other student section shot back with a "where's your trophy" so naturally we replied with "at your mom's house".

I'm a fan of the "nuts and bolts, nuts and bolts we got screwed."

-mod remove this if this isn't clean.
