  1. Corey Sewell played at about that same size and was a dandy. If you are athletic and fast you can contribute at that size.
  2. He considered it last year. However, he won't this year for sure for reasons previously stated. It is a shame because he could help us out.
  3. Neither do I, but they did. Believe it or not. Truth is truth whether anyone believes it or not. Now, back to football both Aaron and Isaac can help our football team but they are discouraged rather than encouraged to play it if they also want to play significant minutes in basketball. Aaron is still planning on playing football and he can sure help us. Glad he chose to come on out.
  4. Well, I am good friends with Aaron's parents and Aaron, his dad, and step mom says that Coach P did everything in his power to try to discourage Aaron from playing football including holding his starting spot over his head. Isaac Wilson went in with Aaron to tell coach that they both were going to play football and as soon as Isaac heard Coach P say that Aaron would not start he (Isaac) changed his mind and left. So, that is from the horses mouth himself. Anyway, this is a football thread so we better stick to how Aaron can help us next year in football. The basketball team is finished for the season and we can just wish the boys the best for next year. Coach P doesn't like his players playing football so he will have one less football player to worry about next year and that should make him happy.:walk:
  5. Coach P is never going to admit publicly that he is prejudiced against football players, but just look at the past and present with what he has done with them. I know for a fact that Caleb Watkins tried to back out of basketball this year knowing that they had a group of talented players. He told Coach P that he felt like he would be wasting his time. Coach P told Caleb he would play and be a help to them . . . that they really needed him, however, that was not the case. Caleb knew he would never start but he thought he would get minutes above freshmen and sophomores, but Coach P chose to sub in the younger boys for whatever reason. So, long story short, Caleb is just going to stick with football and baseball next year where he feels he can actually help the team and be utilized. Hey, facts are facts and Coach P does not like football players who continue to prepare by lifting and such through basketball season . . . kids who will contribute in football must prepare by lifting through the off season if they want to stay competitive. But if a kid is athletic, and can help you out, he shouldn't be penalized because he/she is trying to keep in shape for the other sports they play. And yes, Coach P has been relatively successful but he has had talented teams that didn't require much coaching . . . they had/have basketball instincts that win the games and it just comes automatically. He has been lucky that way. Next year it looks like he will still have a great nucleus of players and have a chance once again to make "the dance." Only time will tell, we wish the team the best.:thumb:
  6. Travis probably does not want to say because if he does (and he is going to play) Coach P will not be happy. He tends to penalize football players. He refuses to use most of them even if they could help him out. (Notice I said most, he told Aaron Manns if he played football he would lose his starting spot ---- he couldn't keep that up for long though, cause he needed him too bad.)
  7. Josh Crawford of Corbin is getting attention from both Transylvania and Centre.
  8. I believe that #11 Ben Jones picked up the save.
  9. Caleb Watkins started at left field had a single and a double and scored two runs. Blake will be out another 3 weeks or so. It was a bad high sprain. The same type Caleb had during football. They can nag away for a long time.
  10. Logan Matlock and Coltin Hansen pitched for the hounds. Knox Central had #3 and someone else (can't recall a name or number)
  11. Final for season opener.
  12. Who is Mills? Do you mean Isaac Wilson?
  13. :clap: GO HOUNDS!!! :clap::dancingpa:dancingpa
  14. Do you mean Wilson? There is no Mills on Corbin's roster.
  15. Prayers from Corbin for this young man and family in their loss.
  16. Tell your kids how much you love them everyday . . . life is very short.
  17. Jonathan broke every bone in the opposite leg he broke during football. The femur had broken and punctured the side of his leg. He is being prepped for reconstructive surgery. Steven Lambdin is currently on life support. Please continue to pray for these young men.
  18. Cracker Barrell. They were on their way to school this morning.
  19. Jonathan Goforth and Steven Lambdin had to be airlifted to UK this morning after a terrible car crash. It appears Jonathan was coherent but Steven was not responding. Please pray for these young men, their families, and their classmates.
  20. Bench 315 Squat 500 Power Clean 300 ( has the record for under 200 and tied the record for over 200lbs.) He weighs around 205 right now.
  21. Caleb and Ryan will both be seniors next year. It is a little confusing because the football season is 2009 and they graduate in 2010. However, they are both working hard in the weight room. Caleb is benching 315 lbs. , power cleaning 300lbs. and squatting 500lbs. He weighs 205 and is 6'1". By the time the season rolls around he should be a beast to contend with.
  22. I wouldn't be too sure about that?
  23. Jimmy is a fine young man and has a great future. Great job Jimmy!
  24. Caleb Watkins of Corbin has been working hard in the off season. He had a great junior year. He is strong and fast. He is 6'1" and weighs around 208 lbs. He is currently benching 315lbs and squatting 455 or better. He rushed for almost 1200 yards and 16TD's last season. He is a force to contend with on defense as well.
