I too have heard of this and rumor has it he will be named the coach on Friday. It must be a pretty darn good set up (package) for Morris to return to high school football after having coached at the college level. Hard to compare the SEC to high school, but in this day and time I suppose anything is possible.

Personally, I don't think Dudley Hilton would be a good fit for Boyle, IMO. He may be a good coach who has been successful, but not all coaches' personality/character, etc. will 'fit' the Boyle Co. program. Coaches like French or Buchanan have the character and work ethics more suitable for Boyle Co. Folks like to compare potential candidates to the great Chuck Smith and I just don't see Dudley Hilton fitting that mold, but that is not to take away the fact that Hilton is a good football coach. Anybody heard when they're going to post this position? I'd think they would want to hire someone fairly quickly and move on with it.

IMO, Boyle would be very fortunate to get Coach Buchanan from Mason Co. I agree, he has built a nice program at Mason and it is one that many around the state recognize and respect. Buchanan coached the KY All-Stars a couple of years ago (and they beat TN), so he obviously has made a name for himself. I remember the days when Mercer Co. football had Coach Larry French (head coach) and a couple of his assistants were Buchanan and Chuch Smith. What a staff, huh?!! Who wouldn't love to have those 3 together again coaching a high school football team? That would be my Christmas wish!:thumb:

That's just Coach Buchanan for ya. He's first class from start to finish and he tries to teach his kids the same. I know he cares for his players like they were his own! Good luck to Russell the rest of the way!:thumb:

Coach B has built one heck of a program at Mason Co. and it is because he, his coaches and players work their butts off year in and year out that they compete the way they do!! The game at hand is Mason vs. Russell... then the winner will move on, so its pointless in stating who is going to play Belfry. One game at a time boys!:thumb: Now, it has been said and I agree both teams have improved, but the one thing that seems different on this thread than the first meeting between the 2 teams is that Russell is ahead in the poll predicted to win. I think Mason Co. got the most votes last time, so I'm gonna be a bit superstitious and say I like it better this way... Mason can be the underdog in the polls and get the 'w' on the road. One would think the pressure would be on Russell... picked to win, playing at home, etc.

I sincerely wish the best for the Mercer Titans and coaching staff! I too agree we will bounce back and have a lot to look forward to in the '08 season. Best wishes to you too Buffalo Gap... I see your passion for the Titans program and that is admirable. I'll say it again, these posts are merely my opinions. I certainly do not know all there is to know about football.

Yeh, I'd say you're right, 'revamping' is a better word for it so no disrespect to the Lincoln community.:thumb: And you're right, there have been a few here in Titan town jump off Jaggers' bandwagon, but I assure you they haven't given up on the boys! All I'll say is that the Mercer football community has had more to deal with than just football this season. Too many distractions, IMO. That's all I'll say about that.

Exactly! If the Royals put together all facets of the game like they have the potential to do, look for a Ragin' Royal win Friday night!! It should prove to be another showdown and one heck of a game.

I don't really know either, but at times it looked like we had 4 running backs or 3 backs and then the QB would roll with it... it confused me so I can't explain it to ya!:lol: Kinda looked like Mercer tried to do some new things instead of sticking with what they had done all year. Sometimes its better to do what you know and just improve on that. I dunno though... I'm merely speculating.

I agree 100%. Coach French has steadily built a very nice, respected football program since he got there 3 years ago. You have to be pretty daggon good to out coach him and I haven't seen it happen yet!! He gets my vote for coach of the year!:thumb:

I hope that 'well runs dry' if they thrive on coming from behind. You can only do that so many games before you realize the 'comeback' isn't coming back.

Yes, Mason does have enough 'push'. Going for the 2 was a gutsy call and one I'm sure Coach B doesn't regret. IMO, going for 2 shows he believes they had the 'push' they needed to win. Yep, they came up short... then, but don't count the Royals out just yet! This rematch should prove to go down to the wire again, and I like the Royals in this one!!:thumb: GO RAGIN' ROYALS!!:fight:

Lincoln Co. took the fight to Mercer and the Titans did not respond. French had his team well prepared and it showed in the way they man handled Mercer. I hate it for these Titans players as they have fought hard all year! Its hard to go from State Champs to a losing season in less than 12 months... hang in there boys!!:thumb: Just a thought... the Titans Trevor Short is one heck of an athlete, perhaps he would be a better running back or receiver than QB. No disrespect to him at all!! He has played hard all year. IMO, the QB spot doesn't play in to his athleticism.

Ditto on that, but I'd have to add a Mason Co. win in addition to a great, entertaining ballgame. It should be another hard fought game, just hope the outcome is different this time around.:thumb:

I'd have to agree with you Super! I think Boyle's tough schedule and the way they've been playing these past few weeks has shown they can indeed make some noise and make it to the carpet!:thumb:

What was Jaggers last season at Lincoln, 1996? Did he go to Danville in '97?

If Lincoln Co. is what has made Jaggers what he is today, great! I am not so shallow to say that he shouldn't cherish what he had at Lincoln and care for that community or deny what he had while he was there. So, I didn't then and I'm not now saying he should deny anything he has with Lincoln. I'm merely looking at it from what his players at Mercer might think about it, as well as a few other folks. I would have thought the same thing if I had seen Coach French wearing his old Mercer gear when he scouted Mercer... but since he is at Lincoln Co., I suppose that is why he sported his Patriots gear. These are just my opions:thumb:... its how I view loyalty to where you are. And trust me, I'm not so serious about this thing that I'm gonna lose any sleep over it!
