  2. Hey... thanks for the clarification of your post, but none needed. Whether disrespectful or not, I was just asking in a sort of 'flabber-gasted' way of how do you fumble on taking a knee? Didn't mean to get your feathers all ruffled. You seem quick to be defensive, but thats okay. I'm just a fan on here giving my opinions and asking a few questions. Don't even see where you got from my post that I was implying the kids were intentionally making turnovers. So enough of that!!:thumb: Its all good. And yes, I'd say Mercer is a better team now than they were in the beginning of the season. So once again, my post wasn't necessarily neglecting a Titan point, but merely making an observation about Lincoln County. Oh... and yes, I have played football, but BGPreps isn't about my career!
  3. Thanks for the clarification! I thought it had already been decided. So, who other than Lincoln Co. could we possibly be looking at playing 1st round?
  4. What about the fumble near the end of the game when the QB was going to take a knee. How do you fumble that?? Great win for the Titans. Now a week off to prepare for a very good Lincoln Co. football team. Mercer better be ready to play the Pats in Death Valley or it could be a long night. The Titans have an opportunity to redeem themselves from that lost to LC at the beginning of the season, but from what I've seen, Lincoln is A LOT better now than they were then.
  5. Rockcastle is mainly a running team, right? It seems we don't do as well against teams that can throw the ball well. I think getting out on top early is essential. The 'come from behind' games are hard on the kids, mentally, IMO. Especially since there have been so many close games go down to the wire, they need to get out on top and stay on top to keep momentum and confidence for 4 quarters.
  6. So where does Mercer fall in the playoffs... we're in, right? First game against Lincoln Co.?

  8. Thanks for the peptalk. I hope we have good luck and that the allotted time for the game will be enough. I've watched Mercer Co. football for 30 years and I like nothing better than to see those boys succeed! I suppose I'm a bit greedy... I wanted to win the state last year and then make a big noise in 5A to shut up all the doubters. Guess in some strange way it has made me doubt our "legit-ness'.
  9. So can we expect some big things from the Titans in the playoffs? As a fan, can I disregard what we have or haven't done during the regular season and prepare for a trip to the carpet? That would be great!!
  10. Mercer has been 'surprised' all year. This season certainly hasn't gone the way I thought it would. Never did I think we'd be fighting for a .500 record at the last regular season game.:irked:
  11. Most definitely!! I wouldn't miss this game for anything!
  12. I agree! I'd say we're in for one heck of a ballgame Friday night.

  14. Nope, it doesn't... just stating that it can add fuel to an already boiling fire inside a kid that is ready to do battle!
  15. This is great stuff to get the Mason boys fired up!! Keep it coming.
  16. I'll have to second that!! Coach Buchanan is not only one heck of a football coach, but a great role model and leader for those players. You don't always find a coach with a 'complete' package, but Coach B is the real deal!:thumb: Before he got to Mason Co., the only thing they had to cheer about was basketball, but he has made football a huge part of that school and community that many around the state now recognize as being a top quality program.
  17. So, RangerBob... You got this thread started. Give us your thoughts and/or predictions.
  18. Man, what are you drinkin'?! I say the Royals will take care of business Friday night and win a hard fought football game. GO ROYALS!:fight:
  19. GREAT win for the Titans! This was a huge win for them and will help get the momentum needed going in to the final stage of regular season play as well as the playoffs. Defense looked very good again tonight and the offense seemed to find the crack in Boyle's defense the 2nd half. IMO, Matthew McCloud had an incredible game on both sides of the ball. His play really stood out tonight. On the Boyle Co. side of things. I read on here where many of you believe as I do, that Pardue can indeed turn things around at Boyle. What I don't believe is that the administration will give him the time to do that. He is a very good coach and knows what he is doing, but I don't think Boyle (administration, fans and parents) will give him the chance. It is obvious to me that they have no where near the talent they had back in the days of state championships, but that past success has altered the ability of logic and reasoning in the minds of many in Title Town.
  20. If Boyle Co. beats the Titans this badly, things won't be very pretty in Titantown! Hope you're not right Admiralcrp, but I will say that if the Titans don't bring their 'A' game along with the an intense hunger for a win, it could be a long night.

  22. I didn't mean by stating we're trying to get things "back on track" that the train has totally derailed. It's just hard to adjust to the lack of success this year compared to the awesome season we had last year. True, last year was a fairy tale of a year... perfect record and state championship. I in no way thought we would duplicate that this year, but did believe we would possibly be 6-1 or perhaps 5-2 right now. Not 3-4. And while we have 4 losses by a total of 12 points, what does that really count for? A loss is a loss. I haven't jumped ship on this team at all! Just disappointed. I want to see Mercer build a program and not just win games. I hope we continue to improve and build on creating a tradition of success.
  23. Uh, yeh... I could say that. Man, you talk about a rollercoaster ride. Top of the hill 8 months ago, now we're just trying to get the train back on track.
  24. Speechless! What can you say about that?
