  1. Yes. And those lunatics would be the whiny parents.
  2. As I stated on another post: I hate Eastern Kentucky!!! Not really. I do hate the "good 'ol boy" mentality of the area, though. Anyone not from the area will never get a fair chance at Greenup. I've known Coach Leach for a while and he is a great guy and coach. He runs an exciting style that is fun to watch, when the right guys are there to run it. His Kentucky Christian University teams were VERY fun to watch and also successful. Unfortunately, there just isn't the talent at Greenup. Anyone who blames Coach Leach for the Muskies season is ignorant to basketball and I will be happy to tell them that to them in person. Coach Leach is charismatic and great with kids. I just think the previous regime at Greenup has soured a lot of players, parents, and fans and given them the idea that they run the joint. Greenup needs to lighten up and realize there just isn't the talent this year as in the past. Sounds like a situation going on about 120 miles west down I-64 at a certain institution.

  4. Here is an article on New Castle, IN Fieldhouse: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/preps/basketball/2004-02-25-ten-great-hoops-newcastle_x.htm
  5. Does anyone have a score and stats from the late game last night???
  6. Does anyone have any RH stats from the Henry Clay game?
  7. In Indiana, we called them "Michigan Staters"
  8. If I had a vote, I would probably say that the best student sections in the state are the same ones that the other 500 threads on this topic have concluded over the last couple of years.
  9. It was always good. I would guess and say on average about 20-12 against high NAIA and even a few D-I schools oftentimes. They did very well within their division. I don't think they won a NC while he was there.
  10. Coach Leach did the same thing at KCU. Very little defense, but a lot of fun to watch.
  11. Obviously, this will be much closer than the first meeting. Having all of their players back will completely change the flow of the game. Ultimately, I still think it will have the same outcome (but I hope not). LCA- 31 Raceland-24
  12. The turnovers did hurt, but I think the point where the tide turned was the 4 or 5 false start calls that gave the Rams 1st and longs and 2nd and really longs. You can't successfully run your offense when you put yourself in those situations.
  13. Tyler Jones from Russell. No question. He is all over the field and lays the smack down on whoever has the ball. He absolutely destroyed the Ashland RB.

You are absolutely right! There is NO team turmoil. I hope what I said did not make it sound like there was. It was an isolated player and situation that had nothing to do with football, actually. Sorry if it came off wrong.

I'm not going to name names, but only one that I know for absolute certainty and another through the grapevine is an uncertainty. It just seems like they have had a rough couple of weeks with this and all of the injuries.

I don't want to take anything away from LCA, because I think they would win this game anyway, but half of Raceland's team tonight was reserve players starting. It seems like either half the team is hurt or has quit in the last couple of weeks. I still think LCA is the better team, but they aren't 42-7 better than Raceland. Hopefully they will meet again in the playoffs and Raceland is healthy. Great job tonight LCA! And good effort Rams!
  17. #35 has mono w/ a swollen spleen. You definitely don't want to risk playing with that. IMHO #20 is their best player and the Rams really missed him in the second half.
  18. All of this drama over a low-profile, high school coaching position. I could care less about the recruiting issues (if there even are any issues). The man should have been let go a long time ago for his sideline antics and his anger problems. Very classless approach to teaching young, impressionable boys the game of basketball. He needs to gracefully bow out and leave if he gave a crap about the current and future students of GCHS. The rep of the school is at an all time low, which is too bad because there is so much potential in the school system. I hate it for Greenup County. I can't figure out what the reason is for all of this legal action. Does Hicks actually want his job back?
  19. I hope that the name of Greenup County High School is not tarnished for the sake of Coach Hicks. There is a LOT of people and students who will be affected by this. I hope for both parties' sake there is a way to bring a quick end to this without hurting the school or Coach Hicks. Whether there was illegal things going on or not (I think I know which), GCHS needs a fresh start. I would gain a lot of respect for Hicks if he would walk away in order to keep the GC name respectful. And if the Administration is found to have done wrong the same goes for them. This whole situation was handled very poorly from both sides. I've beat this dead horse in the past, but his behavior in the gym is enough to garnish a firing for me. Kids should not to subjected to that kind of behavior or model. There are many other men who would be a great coach and role model for the kids. The school should have put a stop to it immediately and given him an ultimatum before other issues started to pop up.
  20. I went to college with Jay and he was one heck of a player and an even better guy. Wherever he ends up, he will be loved!
  21. This has always been the argument that was the least rational to me. Sometimes teams just foul more than the other team. It is not the job of a referee to keep the fouls even. If he/she sees a foul, they call it.
  22. Wow! How tall is Simpson? It looks like she's a foot taller than everybody in that picture. I was thinking she was 6'2".
  23. Jessica Fortman of Russell to Buffalo Whitney Seals of Raceland to Belmont
