I agree with you IBALL, I see a lot of this in the Girls games, many times the refs do not make the call intentional and many times, under the basket, they do not even blow the whistle. I feel like they are in a hurry to get the game over. I am tired of kids trying to hurt each other, the ref should handle it at the beginning of the game and it should not be tolerated. Another thing that I have seen more and more this year is when there is a loose ball and a player is on the floor with it, the other players are allowed to jump on and pile on the player. Why is that not a foul? Someone is going to get hurt badly and it happens 2 or 3 times per game.

And I have enjoyed every post I have read..in particular the Shasta info.!

They should go to a team camp together like the girls do..it really helps all of the players.

I was too, but I feel really good about the way our girls played especially as young as most of the team is. They just ran out of steam in the first half and then after they got back on track they just could not make up the difference.

Owen County pulled out the win in the Girls JV tournament in Owen County today to win the 31st district tournament. Congratulations Lady Rebels! Good Showing Lady Panthers..the future looks bright.

Buttels - I have to agree with you on the Gallatin by 6, it seems that everyone is bringing their A games right now and Walton will have the homecourt advantage. Good Luck!

I saw the Madison Courier I thought the picture was kind of funny..I wonder why they picked that one.. The BBQ was good but they do not understand the importance of Shasta! I am glad you did not clear the gym between games.

TB&G I know what you are saying about SO but the only time I have seen them play was at SO and it was probably the worst game we have played all year...right after all A. So I looked at their schedule and tried to draw conclusions.

I agree BGGreen, even the kids like to go to each others games and support each other! Our School does not schedule that way but they did have one conflict from a make-up game. I can not imagine an AD scheduling that way on purpose, seems counterproductive to school spirit!

I think in the 8th district that there are 4 teams that depending on the matchups in the regionals have the ability to win. I have seen 3 of them play and the other is be reputation and stats only. Shelby, Anderson, Carroll and Simon Kenton. The regional match-ups will be critical to see who makes it to the sweet sixteen. You could possibly throw South Oldham in the mix if someone is having and off day in the other 4.

The kids in our County really like the double headers and a lot of the fans do too. That way they can pay one price and see both of the teams varsity program. We have a lot of community support and many of them just folllow the Varsity programs and have little interest in the JV. I think it is good that both teams get some Friday and Saturday games, then they are only out one night during the week and can get homework completed.

I do not have exact stats but Whit scored a lot, Girdy scored a lot...Lwallace had a couple of 3's.. Coach Mefford had a technical. Fresh won big , JV lost by 6

Just came from the Raiderdome they did not have Shasta but did have some great BBQ and a very nice Senior celebration. Carroll won the Fresh and Varsity games and Trimble got the JV. Saw a lot of good basketball on the floor....

Does anyone have a score on this game.? It is not on the scoreboard yet.

I have been seriously impressed also.. Just a junior and one heck of a team player.. you should hear how she encourages the younger players. You guys have a couple of Lady Raiders that we are going to be challenged to defend next year also.!

I don't know..losing our D1 player is going to take quite a bit of our scoring ability.. However, I look for "Girdy" to really be a major player next year. The Wildcats have had a lot of injuries but keep fighting back, that shows they know how to play as a team. Do they have a lot of Seniors?

EKU Fan - I really appreciate the play by play but I do not like to see names and players dissed in this forum. You may be right and they may have not finished strong in this situation but I think many of these same players have done well in other games. Hendricks in the last Trimble County game was the difference. They need strong coaching and development - these same kids won the Freshman and 8th grade districts and the thing I do agree with you on is they are "young talent" Many of them read this forum and I would hate for them to read a negative post like that.

Sticks - I agree with the talent.. I would have liked to have seen the starting 5 go back in together..that was when we got a lead but they never played those 5 together again that I remember. CC had one starter out with the flu...poor kid

Thank you for the info..it appears that WV either just stopped playing or Henry really came on. I would like to have seen this game.. I think WV is going to be tough in the All A next year..

Does anyone have any details of this game. I am really surprised by the score and I wondered if WV had anyone out or sick. Henry is going through a re-building year and they may have re-built faster than expected. Sounds like a good game.

Does anyone know of any good V-ball camps that the girls can stay overnight, about 2-3 nights in the state of Kentucky? Looking for a freshman girl.

I am not sure what the deal was at the end.. from the subs that he made I thought he was supposed to miss the FT and send it to either Yager or Cable for a 3....well that did not work exactly right. Yep..we will be back at the Raiderdome tonight..My daughter has a triple header, but at least it is a Friday night. Does TC participate in a District Tourney this weekend?

Sorry TB&G my kid had homework last night so I did not get to respond. Congrats to the Raiders they really hustled. ! Do not understand the CC line-up, we got off to a great start with the 2 big guys in, then we never saw it again in the game. It appeared that someone missed the boat on that one. Once again you all had a great fan section and really helped cheer your team on to victory! Congratulations!
