Carroll County won this tournament by beating Gallatin in the final game. It was a good tournament and I saw a lot of talent from all of the counties out on the floor today. CC played outstanding defense and really played as a team. It was the best they have looked all year. Nice time to come together. THis is actually the 31st district tournament not the 8th region...

Buttels - What did they find was wrong with her shoulder? Is it something fairly serious or does it just need time to heal.?

I think Owen has a homecourt advantage but...I have to take my Panthers depending on who the coaches play.

Hopefully, they will not be suffering form All A-itis and GC will pull this one out.

Last match-up Ludlow pulled it out but that was at a neutral site. I think GC has been playing very well and I would like to see them win this for the 8th region. I think it will be a tight one. Is the Gallatin Center ( Amanda) beck. If so my prediction is.. Gallatin 42 Ludlow 39

I think it depends on who the coaches decide to play, since many of the freshman start varsity and really are not included in the tourney unless their coach decides to play the "true freshman". CC has mostly 8th graders and 7th graders along with a few freshman to round out the team. I know that is true of Owen also. It should be fun though to watch these young girls compete.

I wish you had been right TB&G..It was not a good display of basketball for CC. (In particular in the 1st half) They had every opportunity to win and kept throwing the ball away. South played hard and had a good defensive game. I am sure our Panthers will come around

Carroll Lost by about 4..they came out so flat and the score was like 12 - 2 before CC even started playing. For as many turnovers as we had I am surprised the game was that close. Coach did not seem too concerned he said that there is always a let down after all A. I am sure they will come together as a team and get back to their winning ways.

We just do not have the numbers, we have 19 girls total in the basketball program and 5 of them are Middle School girls. There are a lot of reasons for it but it really comes down to 2 reasons. 1. Bad coaching decisions at the MS level about 4 years ago that made most of what would be our Upper class girls quit. 2. It is hard work, most girls would rather be a cheerleader or do something that does not require the type of physical commitment that B-Ball does, plus it is not a very glamorous sport. Most of the programs around us have this problem to some degree but ours is really tough right now because of the MS problems several years ago, we are seeing an increase in numbers every year and I think this issue will correct in about 2 years. The Middle school program is loaded now and we have 7 freshman this year!

That is too bad. She is a good ball handler, one player can make a big difference.

Is the game at Gallatin? If so I am going to go with GC if the girl with the hurt arm is back. BUt they may not have an answer for Miller on the inside from TC. I heard that Cj is no longer playing at Trimble. If this is true that is a big loss for the Raiders. I am hoping that is not the case, she is a quality player. Close game: Gallatin by 3 at Gallatin If at Trimble Trimble by 6.

Carroll Co. travels to South Oldham tonight for a triple header. Does anyone have any thoughts on the outcome. CC is coming off the loss in Richmond, and hopefully is up to the challenge. South seems to have some good wins. Should be a good game!:banana:

Well.. I believe Gallatin will win (sorry TB&G,) but I think the Raiders will play one of their best games this year and keep it close at 12 points. Gallatin 76 Trimble 64 Gallatin should have won that game at Richmond, so they will come in playing hard.

I know it is in Owen Co... I can really only talk about Carroll County's team Our team consists of 2-8th graders, 1-7th grader and 2 junior as starters the rest of the team has mainly Freshman. Coach does not let the Freshman and Sophmores that play a lot of varsity play JV so we usually use this as a learning tool, however they are winning quite a few games this year so you never know. I do know that the tournament is 2/17

Do not get too upset with the negative poster above, I can not find any positive posts on anything other than the large schools for that member. High School basketball has players of all levels learning the game and working hard. I suppose MRB would like to get rid of Parks and Rec ball too..after all what good is it to teach kids teamwork, have them get excercise and cheer for each other. All A is a great thing! I enjoyed watching all the teams.

LCA was a very good team and had a very good bench. CC just was not up to it but had a very good run in the all A. We are proud and they have the rest of the season to look forward to.

Good Luck to the Lady Panthers as they take on LCA today at noon. I believe Coach Mefford has them focused and ready to take on this challenge. It will not be easy but if they play their best game this will be down to the wire. Panthers by 3! :ylsuper:

Gallatin is a fun team to watch. they really pass the ball well. When LCA went to their press GC did a great job of throwing over it and getting many 2 on 1 breaks. GC milked the clock to perfection with great ball movement. This TEAM is making some noise in Richmond. Nice Game Gallatin!:thumb:

Gallatin looked great today. They were a little flat the second half but did a great job. Go 8th region!

I heard a local coach in our district while loudly ranting and raving at his girls team declare " you are the worst coached team in the world" It was the first statement that he had made all night that I agreed with. Needless to say they lost the game.

We made some mental mistakes and came out a little flat in the 2nd half but we pulled through. Lots of fans from the region were cheering us on and CC appreciated it. I hope GC has the same outcome tomorrow.

Well.. I am just going to the all a site and at least they are filling in the brackets as teams play. That is the best I can find.
