  1. I believe the 8th region is at Owen CO. this year. I looked it up on the Khsaa Website and that looks like what is says. Someone please correct me if I am wrong the listing is very hard for me to read. Do they seed the tournament or is it a draw?
  2. In reference to the 8th..I would have to say that I see 4 or 5 really strong teams in this region. SK, Shelby, Anderson, Carroll and possibly Walton. Carroll lost by 8 early in the season at Shelby and Anderson played them close at home. I am sure all of the teams have improved since then. In the tournament you never know what could happen.
  3. Here is one Rooting for the Wildcats to :flame:LCA Go CATS!!
  4. Tough year. Well they will both be back next year right? At least some of the young girls are getting some valuable experience. In a small school these injuries are just devastating.
  5. Great School! It is nice to see our girls from small schools do well. I am assuming that your 2 starters are out for the season, I know the ACL is, but what is the status of the arm.
  6. I just want to wish the Lady Panthers of Carroll Co. the best of luck tomorrow at Richmond. Coach Mefford and his staff have them focused and ready to take on any challenge and their fans are very proud. We will be in the stands cheering them on in our black shirts! :ylsuper:
  7. Gallatin's Buttlewerth is a really good player..any word on her after high school plans. They really have been playing hard and moving the ball well.
  8. I remember in December when Carroll was playing better that they took Henry County to overtime, then they lost by a few points. I would love to see a comeback by the Panthers to put their game together in time for the tournament. They have the ability. It is a tournament and you never know what could happen.
  9. That is really great, and likewise the CC girls are attending the GC boys game. I hope the 8th region does well.
  10. OK, we do have a big company that is growing in C-town.. the problem is no housing..but that is a different issue. I hope that somewhere in that discussion we start some action to address this. I feel really sorry for those kids..
  11. I think Carroll is going to be great next year. Good attitudes and a desire to win will really take those young guys far. Those guys really are fun to watch, especially when they get to play together with more regularity! I have seen the Fresh play and we just need to be patient and they will do well. I would not count Carroll out for anything..all A or the districts.
  12. Sure...or you could just wear Gold at least you would sort of fit in..
  13. But I grew to love the pen.. I even embraced the cattle idea. Oh well...
  14. Riley, Roberts, Cheatum, Proctor and Meadows are seniors, we only have 1 junior on the team and the rest are Sophmores and Freshman. So 4 out of 5 of out starters.
  15. You are right True Blue, and I appreciate Mack's information. The more kids that are involved the better... I believe that there are enough people out there in Carroll County that would help and identify kids to participate and encourage them.
  16. Fun to watch..I have had teams of 25 kids and never even laid eyes on 1/2 of the parents...Many of them I had to take home and pick -up if they were going to get to participate and even buy them the correct safety equipment if needed. I guess my point is that there is untapped talent out there that will never get developed because no one cares if they participate. How many of you know of kids that are pretty athletic that if someone had taken an interest earlier they might have been a great player.
  17. True Blue...Just wanted you to know..we are doing a black out (black shirts)Wednesday. We would love for you to join in the fun.!
  18. No I was talking about your Hitler post.. I filled in the H on your Push. I was not sure if you were trying to say about CC sports and Hitler were one or what your point was.
  19. Pappie - I do not understand your post. I would just like to see all the kids have a chance to participate and learn at a younger age not just the ones that have parents or someone else take an interest and get them involved.
  20. Well . not a lot, really nothing that can not be worked out.. for example a boy could not Golf and football, but there are many boys who with the right program and if the coaches worked together could do all of many sports. It kills me to sit at the Football games and see some of the biggest most athletic players not on the field because they are going to play basketball and are afraid to miss some open gym time. There are many boys that do all 3 and should be encouraged and not discouraged. The girls have to do this because there are not as many athletes, and cheerleading has taken so many of the girls that most of the others play at least 3 sports.
  21. I agree, there is much room for improvement...and I hate to say it but it comes down to time and money.. Football - most of the kids get to start playing in 6th grade. A few games and then they are done. Let's face it, to play Yellow Jackets you have to have a parent that will take you and pay for it. So the other 80% are left out until the school program takes over. SO what is the solution..I remember when we had 4 little league teams that were local. Volleyball - even with the improvement our girls do not readily have access to MAVA and year round organizations that other girls have. At least there is an interest and someone is taking the time to work with those girls. Softball - No one wants to coach and that really makes the girls not want to play. We have a feeder program and many good players out there. Soccer - I am not familiar with the issues there. Baseball - Same as Football, there is not really a organized team until HS...so most of the kids are left out unless they have parents that get them involved outside the school. Good Coaches are passionate about the sport and recruit the players and work with them year round. Here is what I think should happen...Kid A is an athlete and should play football, Basketball, and baseball and a program is worked out for that kid ..conditioning, weight lifting etc so that he can participate in all 3 with out negatively effecting him in his sport of choice. We have a limited athlete pool and we need to use them all in the sports. The coaches need to work together and get the right kids to participate in the sports. Any thoughts...
  22. Can't sell Henry short either they have beat both Owen and Gallatin and were able to get the 1st seed.
  23. Carroll Co. will pull the upset and win for the 8th region! They are focused and ready.
  24. I want the 8th region boys and girls to have a great showing in Richmond. Let's get the 8th a little respect.. I will be wearing blue on Thursday and black on Wednesday. Good Luck ...Is Gallatin closed on Thursday?
