I would be very surprised if any young, hungry talented asst coach would set 5-7 years waiting for a job that he would be in line for whether or not he stays. I could see Sullivan coming back to the program in 5-7 years but not sitting and waiting for the oppertunity.

I heard today that BCG has put in more than one call to Arrez over the past few days and nothing formal has been offered. Arrez would fit the BCG walk-on better than most because he does what BCG wants, play good hard man to man defense. From what I've been told Arrez brings the same intensity to practices as he does games, he would be a nice asset to go against your starting guards on day to day basis.

Holmes defense will be there, the questions are on offense, can they get enough shooting from outside and can they continue to finish inside.

Congrats Holmes, an amazing comeback considering the caliber of team you were playing. Thought the officiating might have been the best I've seen so far at the Tournament.

Paintsville is only 6 deep, IMO there is no way 6 guys can handle the pressure Homes will bring all game. I see Paintsville hanging in for a while because their 6 are very good, but fatigue and 2nd chance points will kill them in the second half. BTW Sloan was very impressive last night.

The awards being split works out well, as I think both players were very deserving.

We can both agree that CCH is the better team. To pull off the upset at some point you have to take some chances. The way they played kept them close but, gave them little chance to win. I am not saying they have to come out from the tip off with pressure, what I am saying is playing the way they did was just a slow death. CCH's strength is their ability to execute if you want to beat them you at some point have to disrupt that.

They played 8 players and Cory picked up his first foul late into the second half. If they truely expected to win a game against a team that executes that well with that defensive philosophy they were mistaken. Giwa, Roneker and Easton are all good athletes that were plenty capable of putting more pressure on the ball.

By the way the Refs were not good but it had no bearing on the outcome on the game.

To me the game came down to HC not doing enough defensively, the soft man and 2-3 zone allowed CCH to execute their offense without any distractions. Time and time again they worked 6-8 passes to a wide open shot, and when they missed that shot they got the rebound and put it back in. It looked as if Cory not only had to carry the scoring load but if he didn't get the rebound somebody in blue and white was going to.

What a difference a new year and a new coach makes. Congrats Coach Miller

No I don't think so, he has not played all year long, but would have definitely been their third option if he made it back.

Surprised so many taking HC. With that said they have the shooters chance at the upset, the shooter being Sorrel. I still think Cov Cath wins this game would have been really interesting if Mike Sullivan of HC didn't break his hand at the beginning of the year as he would have been their third option.

Any word on the injury to Giwa?

Holy Cross's biggest hurdle isn't whether Sorrell can go off again but the mental challenge they have with beating CCH. It has been quite a while since that has happend and none of these players have ever experienced it.

I played against some of those defenses and they were good, the defense I saw on the floor last night was great. Holmes has never mastered the team concept of a good man to man defense until this year.

Best Team defense I've ever seen played in the 9th region, they were everywhere. If they play D like that nobody in the region can touch them.

Henley had his chance last year to move back home and passed on it, the job is his and he has earned the right to keep it. Tim's varsity job is probably not at Holmes in the immediate future. He may not get the Cooper job, but for the school system to dismiss him because he is not a Boone Co. guy would be a mistake. I'm not saying Garnett should not get the job I like him as well, but if I was doing the hiring both of those guys would be on my list.

I think Holmes will have to much for HC but the Sorrell on offense vs Henderson on defense match-up should be more than worth the price of admission.

I understand the process and there will be plenty of consideration given to Boone Co. coaches but in the end if they are serious about their sports programs they will choose the best person for the job and I believe he will be one of the finalists.

Just a guess but I would say Tim will have several good offers on the table before Henley is ready to leave possibly the Cooper job.

IMO this list has to start with Tim Sullivan at Holmes High School. He has one year of varsity experience with ST.Pat's where a lot of the players that are doing well now got their first highscool expereince with him. He played college b-ball and relates very well with today's athletes. I would think he will be at the top of the list for varsity coach at Cooper High. He would give that school a great start to their program.
