It sure seems like the semifinal matchup involving the Birds will be a great game and then the survivor has to take on another great opponent to win it (assuming no upsets). With McGraw's back situation, I just don't see them beating Cov Cath and Holmes in successive games in whatever order they would face them. Personally, I would love to see a third Holmes-CC battle for the championship.

Thanks for that correction. It sounds like the draw will be awfully important as I think there are only 3 teams capable of winning the region.

I am very impressed by Tim Phillips and he's #1 of the T backs I've seen over the past 7 years. I know that people like to talk about size limitation as far as D-1, but I really think he has an unusual combo of speed, strength and quickness that will get him some D-1 offers. Just watching his demeanor without knowing him I would also assume he makes good grades and has great character based on how he handles success humbly instead of with cockiness. Good luck to Tim P!

WOWser! I will definitely try to make it to a rematch if it occurs. Another great game between two very good squads. A major rematch obstacle is the fact that CovCath/Birds will match up in quarters or semis barring upset. There is only one scenario where Holmes will get tested in round one and that is if they face Conner at Conner if Conner loses to St. H.

Congrats to a great person and player. (I'm still waiting to score my 2,000 after 15 years in the rec league combined with my total scoring in high school.) We'll be pulling for you at UK!

:thumb: Total agreement. I would much rather have Mrs. Oliverio's classy approach to coaching than say, the antics and squalling on the other side of the gym. Congrats to the Raiders on a great season where they overcame a lot of adversity and did well. Nice young team to watch - what a difference a year makes. Hopefully, this group of young talented ladies will hang together. Good luck to the Lady Cougars!

I would be absolutely shocked if St. H won by more than 2-3 points if they indeed beat Ryle. It should be a great game and I believe Ryle will win if they shoot 40% or more. Raiders always seem to play great d. Hopefully, Clay Coleman can play - a nice player. It looked like he twisted his ankle pretty good last night and didn't play much.

Sorrell deserves 9th region POY regardless of how the tourney works out. He has seldom been shut down and the other teams key on him. Congrat to HC on the win.

Most of the BGP'ers were predicting a double digit win for the Camels and I thought that Ryle clearly looked like the better team last night. I had not seen Campbell yet this year and they were not sharp last night. I imagine the Camels thought it was going to be an easy win. I hope the Raiders build on this and make a nice run. They are very capable of doing it. You know they are going to play great defense.

Another good win for the Raiders. They shot well in the second half and beat the homestanding Camels. As cchs_camels says, someone has to be wrong. Now go do well in the district and region, Raiders!

After the Ryle-Heritage opener, the games will be very close IMO. You will see Conner give Boone a scare and maybe even an early exit. Ryle beat St. H at St. H without Maley. Expect another close game there with no clear favorite. I'd say Ryle and Boone but it really can go either way. Conner over Boone would be a shocker, yet not totally unexpected with the game at Conner and Conner's ability to turn it up a notch come district time. Boone won all 6 games with them vs. district opponents except the upset by the Cru. Boone has to be considered the heavy favorite based on overall performance this year. Anything can happen come tourney time.

Good win for the Raiders. NC's #12 is quite a player and I really enjoyed watching him play although his foul trouble was a key in the game. NC's #13 hit a couple of big treys to bring NC back when it looked like Ryle was taking control of the game. Nice drive by Ryle's Andy Ahern to score the winning basket with 8 seconds left after Ryle had led most of the game. NC took their first lead of the second half when #13 hit a nice runner with 15 ticks left. Fortunately for Raider fans, he missed the free throw. Both teams got after it defensively all night long. Good H.S. game to watch.

From scoreboard. Congrats to Lady Raiders. I can't remember the last time Ryle beat Boone in Girl's Basketball!!!!!!!! Is this score correct?
