I was unable to make the game. Congrads to Greenup. How did Raceland do? Did any young players pick up their game and do we see a solid future moving up for Raceland.

Oh bluto! I am heading that way this year since i am hearing most are wearing orange are you sporting the usual toga? Ok i know we get on here and go back and forth debating each game but here is how our thoughts count sometimes. I am from Ashland have relatives and friends at Raceland so i of course was for Raceland the Ashland game now. Did i think Raceland would pull that one out no not really. Was i worried about East? No i was not I thought fairly easy win. Wrong again. Last but not least I thought I we might be really down emotionally the Fairview game. Wrong again. They continued the streak there. Yes it was closer but heart played alot with that game. You could debate all evening it is at LCA and Raceland has numerous injuries. Heart again will play a big part. Those young men that have moved up in the injured spots trying to prove something. Trying to make the coaches and the injured players proud. You know my opinion I am going to be proud of them no matter what as long as the play the best they can. LCA is wonderful people. The boys that played at LCA that are going to KCU have been following Raceland when LCA games are far away. I know we all want our team to win but as i keep getting older i have just enjoyed the friends I have made from the other schools and come to realize that these young men will eventually come together to play in college. Go Rams lets try and overcome some obstacles and if the victor is LCA congrads. How is that for taking the high road.

LCA game do we plan to see tonga's again. The highlight of the game might I add. Good work with Piercy and Sparks. They most certainly was shinning a shinning star in my book.

Yah. So happy to see that win. I know the staff and kids at Fairview would have liked to have gone 4 and o but I didnt want it to be us. I thought they were several boys that stepped up with advirsity being two boys out. We needed to stop the run and make some plays. I was worried we were getting too comfident in the 4th there was still time on that clock. Games go down to seconds. Sparks thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your truely have earned the title versatile. I did hear there were players out for Fairview but a coach said to some people that the player was reinstated. I dont know about that one. Next is LCA. Tough team every single year. I dont think they have a handful of bad years ever. I would like to see the lights stay on. haha. Just a joke. Boys are going to need to be thankful for the win but pracice like the dickens for this one. Congrads Rams. We will be right with you heading to Lexington.

I think the Rams respect every team they play. I also think the coaches do not take anything forgranted. OldRambler puts it so well one game at a time. Any team can go out there and have the game of their life. For the last couple of years the kids have bought into what the coaches are teaching and they are excited about every Friday night. I am sure East is also. The coaching staff has not only built an outstanding program at Raceland but men like TJ Maynard has done one better. Taken absolutely nothing away from our coaching staff but he has taken a chance on boys that didnt start as freshmen or sophmores and gave them confidence to excell. TJ can take a child and help form his playing ability to make them all area and district players. I have seen it done. Look at last year with the defensive line. My last comment is after watchng our offense this year the improvement is obvious Boyles has a real connection with his offense and I just see a great year for the Rams.

Congrads to Ashland on a close win last night. Ashland had a good running game going on the outside. Raceland did an excellent job staying right with them. They did really well on both sides of the ball. Daniel Jones a first time football player for Raceland had excellent runs. Huffman had two touchdowns. Farley, the quarterback had some yardage racked up. Bonzo, Burchett, Litteral, Craft, etc.. all played well. This will be our up and coming rams so feel free to add your opinions. I was really proud of them and the coaching staff of Fannin, Sammons, Burroughs, and Woods last night. Hope I didnt leave any coaches out. My eyesight is not what it used to be.

That is so funny but probably so true we all love the starbucks

i dont believe for one moment last year was a fluke. They were well practiced and after many hours watching films, practicing and more practicing they prevailed. Their coaching staff had every confidence in last years team as well as this team. Any team can be beaten with hard work and dedication. No flukes at Raceland.

thank you for your best wishes. I wouldnt have missed the football season if they had to cart my hospital bed. Totally agree with OldRambler and Ram best to leave most of your eggs in the basket. I was told alot of younger boys are really stepping up. Some are also getting used to new positions. That is a great thing even though to the boys it is confusing for a couple of practices but we all knew if they want to play at the next level they have to be flexible enough to move positions. Good job Rams and last word they are working hard with good old fashion long complete practices.

Well guys i am back from the whole heart scare again more sugery but i have it on good authority that the Rams looked good for Meet the Rams. Players are still moving positions some trying out some things. Carver, Denton, Piercy, etc.. did well. Boyles I have complete confidence in. Has a good head on his shoulders. Where we were weak right up the middle. Also losing tackles and not getting back up and staying after him. I think it will be all hammered out and as I always say they will start clicking right along. Great to see Mike Sammons back at Raceland. Good to also see several of the Russell boys at there supporting Meet the Rams. HAHA. Nothing negative on that. They were there watched a little and left.

Just a personal opinion we should have kept it on the ground. The running plays were gaining ground. I figure they thought if the East quarterback threw to a teammate then that would be the easiest way to pass. The problem with that theory is the receiver had not been able to catch many passes in regular season. Running the ball was gaining yardage. Well all is done and the West won. Congrats again to the West.

Was there a reason for him to turn the "O" over to the asst coach. Was it for experience? Just wondering.

We didnt get much going offensively. Marcus did really well running the ball. The pass plays didnt work. I dont know if I am suppose to say which receiver missed the ball cause I am not sure if that borders on saying something about a child but one receiver was passed the ball 11 times and dropped all but one. I think Fields Davis also did a good job running the ball but we didnt have many break away runs.

Jeepman I think you are right. I have been on Ashland, Raceland, Russell and Boyds sideline what you are describing is what I usually see. A no call boo. Thats about it.

To my knowledge Bobby Mckee is not playing. He has not been at practice and the rumor is that he is playing fall baseball. I am sure that Tyler will have a back up but I think he is set for the OB position. As far as younger ones my best guess is that they will put Tyler Farley in as JV quarterback.

Yes, We did see that the gas was cheaper. That was a perk. If you noticed on both sides of the program most of the boys were going to KCU. On the gas issue I am glad the gas is cheaper on those boys out there and for their families. Good game

If this is confessions I have said a couple of Good Griefs.

Would never boo a player. I have seen players that have been out there show boating and not thinking about the entire team. I have voiced my opinion such as you do have 10 other players out there. I have had said oh now come on "blue" at times. Truely why would you boo a player if the coaches are calling the plays. A player can have a terrible game but is it not up to the professionals to pull him out? Calling the same play over and over or having the quarterback throw to the same person that is not catching the ball. Where does fault lie and should we be the blamers? I usually sit there and end with good game. Its safer and keeps an old man out of trouble.

I agree about Montgomery County Facilities. There were extremely nice and the men and ladies that were running concessions class act. It was funny about the mic. being on the entire time but that just added to the entertainment. Great job West.

Yes because he is playing in the ky/tenn game. His brother stated to a family friend just the other day that he would have liked to play but couldnt. He had to go be at Murray for something also so between the two it kept him out.

Well that sure is such is a nice compliment and I will pass it along to those two boys. I think their KCU coaches were pleased. We were all scattered in the stands but it was nice for the entire area sitting side by side cheering on those boys. I am glad all those boys got to work together if you looked at the program there were alot of KCU down so there will be many more times. Again great job to all and congrads to Forrest, Joey, Fields, Marcus, Thompson, Grizzle, and the rest of the East Team. Congratulations on the win West.

I would also like to recognize some great plays made at this game by the above mentioned and White,Thompson,Davis these three also helped contribute in a big way. I am sure I am leaving people out also so shout out a name for the East or West and lets recognize these boys as their last high school game comes to an end. Way to go guys we are proud of all of you.

Thanks old rambler I havent been on my A game for posting. I want to tell those girls how proud we are of them and we are proud. Lets make sure they know it.

My comment I hope after people read it will see it only means why have a committee if we do not keep to the rules. I have absolutely nothing aganist these kids. Would love to see them all play and get to play at the next level but we need to take a stand with the rules. AD's need to really go by the rules. If they dont I dont think they understand what that does to the moral of the team. They also do not consider what effect it has on the child. More than likely he doesnt end up fitting in because of resentment that someone got away with bending the rules. Good luck to that young man. I hope what ever he does he turns it around. Good luck to Matt Thomas as quarterback if that has been decided. I like Old Rambler and Cville cat is for all the area teams until the play Raceland.

You know there are three schools in Greenup County. People seem to forget that includes Russell. Who knows maybe he will try and play there. One way or the other the bottom line is make the rules consistent across the board. I personally have been a witness to the lack of consistency when kids get in trouble(no matter what the cause may be). We should never worry who the child is. We should never consider who is related too. Lets all follow the rules stop the good ole boy system and let these coaches and kids be able to hold their head high. It should be the kids that try and keep their work up and noses clean. Hard work and dedication needs to be the ones that play. Guys bottom line in a world with who you are and who you know prevails what is the statement we are trying to teach our kids?
