Ashland QB transferring???

Ive heard that the Tomcat QB may be transferring out of Ashland and possible going to Raceland or Greenup. Anyone have any info?? What a pickup that would be to one of those schools.

Mahan was recently kicked off the team at Ashland and is looking to transfer from what i hear.

I would think eligibility would be a question wherever he lands. He's already transferred once (from Greenup to Ashland). It will be interesting to see how the KHSAA handles this one.

There is probably only one AD that would whine and complain about his eligibility and that is from where he left. So I look for him to have to sit out a year. But would have probably been OK if transferred the other direction.

Mahan didnt impress me much last year from the few games I went to. I know for a fact that Dicky M. wasnt impressed with him. Would this be Mahans junior year ? Who was his back up last year and what grade is he in?

Mahan will certainly be an interesting case study. It will be interesting to see where, why and how he starts the 2007 season. Or, if he plays! I really do not think getting kicked off of the team versus parents relocating or an athlete changing schools for playing time will make any difference to the KHSAA. My guess, he is finished as a highschool footballer...

I've heard that he's planning on moving to live with his grandparents in Greenup, and that he's been told by officials at Greenup he will be able to play next fall.

If the KHSAA is consistent with their recent rulings in northern Kentucky, I really do not think that will fly. I believe there was a footballer who left Conner Highschool his junior rear to play at Holmes Highschool his senior year. I think he was moving to Covington to stay with his grandparents. The KHSAA did not allow the young man to play his senior year. If I am mistaken, please correct me..
