When they get to full strength they will be tough to handle. Still consider them to be favorites this weekend. Very well coached team with a lot of talent and they play well together.

After watching Shining Star Davis this past weekend would have to make them the favorite in 17's especially if Fucci and Martin are able to play this weekend.

Was there for every session and it is easy to show up for a regional tournament. Everybodies fan base does that. I was also at Pendleton County home games and away games during the past few years and they do not travel or show up at home like they used to.

That statement is a little outdated as Pendleton County used to fill the opponents gym under Buddy Biggs and the nice run they had a few years ago. They haven't traveled that well the past three years and home court advantage is not what it used to be either

Would like Shining Sar-Davis chances if they are going to have everyone there for that weekend. Will know a little more about Shining Star Ky after this weekend in Bloomington. Based on their win over Shining Star Davis last weekend I would probably take DSAS as the early favorite.

Carr's name is out there for every potential job opening and rightfully so as he has proven to be a very good coach. Why would you think he would consider Campbell County again? He interviewed with the same administration when they hired Code and did not get the job. If he had issues with the administration at Scott this past season the administration at Campbell County does not have a track record of supporting the coaches. Scott would have to be considered the preseason favorite to repeat in the district based on three consecutive district titles. While Scott lost a lot thru graduation everbody else in the district lost more. They have the best player in the district and good young talent. If he is going to leave Scott it is going to be for a better job and right now Campbell County is not a better job.

Dan Sullivan was dumped in much the same manner after building a nice feeder program and having some success at Campbell County. Reitz not so sure that wasn't his choice to get back down to Harrison County. Code had done a nice job putting in a system and looked like the program was going in the right direction. He had upgraded the schedule to where it should have been with a school of that size. If Campbell County had been in any other district in the 10th Region they are in the regional tournament pretty much every year. Not sure if that would have helped Code's cause as does not seem to be any justification for letting him go at this time so early in his career as the head basketball coach.

What time will this game be played?

Code did a good job with the program. His teams were prepared and they played hard for him. Shelf life for a coach appears to be pretty short for coach at Campbell County. Going to be tough to convince any coach with an established record of success to take this job. Tough to succeed when administration doesn't have your back.

Didn't Carr interview for this job when Code got the position? I think Carr would leave Scott for Holmes not so sure about Campbell County. Scott is a better job at least for the next 3 years. Scott has a very good group of freshmen coming up and would probably still be considered the district favorite for next season as well.

Great facilities and growing population area. Sullivan has laid a good foundation. If he does get the Holmes job this should be an attractive position.

Did the Shining Star Davis team only have 6 for the entire tourney? Long way to go to only have 6 players in a very competitive tournament? Tough time of the year with proms, etc and I think they are waiting on a couple of players to finish their high school baseball commitment. Should be an interesting State Tournament in a couple of weeks. Does this establish DSAS as team to beat or will Shining Star Davis be at full strength at that time? Good win for DSAS!

Just adopt the Ohio HS rule and not allow middle schoolers to play sports for the HS. Force them to go thru the feeder systems and if they decide to transfer/play at another high school then the HS coach/program has a lot less invested in that player. I agree that the enforcement of KHSAA rules regarding transfers is a joke. Never seems to be applied evenly and certain schools seem to be able to benefit more than others in these situations.

I don't think Walter was taking a shot at Sizemore. I think that anyone who is familiar with G'Town basketball would be asking the same question. If you look at their roster Coach Osborne has a lot of D1 transfers and JUCO players and this allows him to compete on the national level for NAIA. His true freshmen that he recruits in the state of Kentucky are traditionally big time players like McFarland or Russ Middleton from Mason County. Coach Osborne signs players that everyone usually sits back and says that they could have played at a bigger and better school than Georgetown and if he doesn't get you the first time he is more than "happy" to talk to you about coming back the second time. If Sizemore got an athletic grant in aid to G'Town to play basketball then that is fantastic but as someone who follows G'Town basketball I was a little surprised as well. Not a shot at Sizemore just an observation as to G'Town traditionally recruits in state kids.

Only negative about situation is the May 24 deadline quoted by the AD. They are probably going to get someone who is currently coaching at another program leaving that program scrambling to find another coach. They won't be able to get a coach in place by the June HS summer season to allow the new coach a chance to learn about his new team as well.

Georgetown also fields a JV team and it also appears that they redshirt a lot of their incoming freshmen. Walk ons do not sign a letter of intent but in some instances when a player commits to walk on at a school the high school still has a "signing" cermony to celebrate the players accomplishment. Not sure if that is the case here or if Sizemore actually did receive an athletic scholarship. Either way it is agreat way to continue his basketball career.

As a supporter of Scott HS basketball I am really glad to see him graduate and head to college. Tired of watching him wear out the Eagles. Good player and class young man. Hanover got a winner!

North Oldham

Have heard for a while that Steve Wright from South Laurel has wanted to get back to Northern Kentucky. Holmes would obviously be a high enough profile job for a coach with a state championship ring.

Instead of continuing to threadjack the Henly to North Oldham thread...... Who will be the likely candidates for the Holmes job? Early favorites seem to be Carr from Scott HS and Tim Sullivan from Cooper. Carr has done a great job turning around the Scott program and Sullivan is one of the top young coaches in N Ky. Both are alumni and coach styles that would be fun to watch at Holmes.

Tim Sullivan at Cooper..... Sullivan and Carr would be two candidates as alums of the school and there may be interest from other coaches in N Ky. Job this high of a profile should draw some interest from all over the state

New challenge for Henley and now will it start the domino effect in N Ky? Holmes still has to be considered a pretty good job with all of the talent running thru the halls.
